Altaf Hussain lauds development works of Industries Ministry

Sindh Minister for Industries Rauf Siddiqui on Thursday called on Muttahida Qaumi Movement founder and leader Altaf Hussain and apprised him about the measures taken for the industrial progress and betterment of industries in the province.

The minister also briefed the MQM chief about the construction of `Afza Altaf’ Flyover in the Site industrial area by his ministry.   News Report

Muttahida Qaumi Movement founder and leader Altaf Hussain said here on Wednesday that the proposal to convene roundtable conference in the wake of threats being faced by the country was aimed at finding out solutions with consenses among all political and religious party of the country meet those challenges.There could be difference of opinion about the threats about which I have hinted and cannot be dismissed altogether but deliberated upon as the country's biggest issue, at present, is its stability and survival.Mr Hussain was speaking at the meeting held at the MQM's International Secretariate London. It was attended, among others, by Sindh minister for Industries, London, , Rauf Siuddiqui, MQM International Secretariat In-charge Mustafa Azizabadi, Joint In-charge Mohammad Ashfaq, Qasim Ali Raza and other members of the International Secretariat.

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the government must rid the people of Karachi of the criminal elements involved in collecting extortion money from business persons and incidents of kidnapping for ransom. He warned that he would disclose the names of the persons and the powerful agency supporting and sponsoring the criminals involved in extortion and kidnappings for ransom, if the government failed to act. He said this while talking to the MQM Co-ordination Committee in London and Pakistan.  News Reports

MQM MPAs denounce increase in KESC tariff

MQM members in the provincial assembly of Sindh have denounced the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for allowing the KESC an increase of Rs 1.60 per unit in the tariff under the head of fuel adjustment charge. The MPAs termed the hike as gross injustice to the citizens of Karachi.
The MQM MPAs said that the people of Karachi were using expensive electricity as compared to other parts of the country, but they were being burdened each month by increasing the fuel adjustment charge. They said that the load-shedding was continuing unstoppably even in the holy month of Ramadan and therefore, the increase in the fuel adjustment charge was uncalled for.

The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has deplored the killings of two sympathizers of Unit 32 of the Lyari Sector by the criminals and terrorists of the gang war and termed it flagrant terrorism. Muhammad Zahid and Muhammad Jabbar were gunned down on Badshahi road in Lyari area. It lamented the brutal killings of innocent persons in the holy month of Ramadan and said that the killers of the gang war were open enemies of Islam and humanity.
