National flag unfurled at Nine Zero on 66th Independence Day

Special prayers have been offered for the peace and prosperity of Pakistan The National flag was unfurled at the MQM Head Office Nine Zero on the occasion of the 66th Independence Day of Pakistan and special prayers were offered for the security, stability and integrity of the country. Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar and member Mr Syed Shoaib Ahmed Bukhari raised the flag on the mast. Other members of the Co-ordination Committee, MNAs, MPAs and office-bearers of different wings of the MQM were also present on the occasion.

He paid tributes to the deceased worker for his services in the party and prayed Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace. He also condoled with the bereaved family members and said that their grief was equally shared by him and the workers of the MQM.

Talking to Governor Ebad on telephone, Mr Hussain said that this was, in fact, an award to the oppressed and deprived people of the country. He said that the award was the recognition of the services of the party belonging to the oppressed and downtrodden people of the country.

Renowned nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan visited the MQM Head Office Nine Zero and held meeting with the deputy conveners of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar and Senator Mrs Nasreen Jalil. Current political situation in the country with particular reference to Karachi and other issues were discussed during the meeting. The meeting continues in a pleasant environment for over one hour.

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain on Sunday stressed that in order to ensure survival of democracy in the country both the Parliament and judiciary should accept each other. Addressing via telephone the annual programme of MQM's welfare wing, Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF) to distribute alms among the poor, Altaf Hussain urged the political and religious parties to come forward for the for the security of the country. "Politicians, security institutions and judiciary should also work for the betterment of the country," he added.
