The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has expressed grief on the death of the mother in law of the member of the MQM Co-ordination Committee Mr Kaiful Wara. He condoled with the bereaved family members and prayed Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace. Meanwhile, the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM has also condoled with Mr Kaiful Wara on the death of his mother in law.

Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Dr Farooq Sattar has said that the majority of the people living in Karachi are peace-loving, and the huge success of the peace walk was a victory of the peace lovers and defeat of the enemies of peace. He said that only peace can guarantee advancement, and advancement would in turn bring prosperity. He was addressing the participants of a Peace Walk that started from Bagh-i-Iban-i-Qasim and terminated at the Teen Talwar.
Dr Sattar said that the peace of Karachi have given a very clear message to the criminal mafia and terrorists. They have rejected the extortion mafia and exposed the elements behind the incidents of kidnappings for ransom.
He said that it was a historic day. The people of Karachi have given a clear message to the government and the law-enforcing agencies as well that they would have to be taken on board in the process of establishing a durable peace in Karachi. They would have to be involved in the efforts for bringing peace in Karachi.
He said that there were only a handful of criminal elements, religious extremists and terrorists practising violence in order to achieve their vile objectives. The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has paid tributes to the martyrs of the catastrophic earthquake that struck Azad Kashmir and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on 8th October 2005. He said that the impressions of the devastating earthquake were still etched in the memories of the people of Pakistan. In a message on the 7th anniversary of the calamity, Mr Hussain said that thousands of lives were perished, hundreds of people became physically disabled and families upon families were uprooted. It was a national disaster and the tragic day on which it struck could never be forgotten.

A detailed and important meeting was held between President Asif Zardari and MQM Founder and Leader Mr Altaf Hussain in the Churchill Hotel in London. The meeting continued for nearly three and a half hours. Members of the Co-ordination Committee Mr Mustafa Azizabadi, Mr Muhammad Anwer and Mr Qasim Ali Raza accompanied Mr Hussain.
