Altaf Hussain congratulates people on the passing of the local government ordinance by Sindh Assembly
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has congratulated the oppressed and downtrodden people of Pakistan and particularly the people of Sindh on the passing of the Sindh Peoples Local Government Ordinance 2012 with a majority. He also praised President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, and elected representatives of the MQM and the PPP for making tireless efforts in the preparation of the new local government ordinance and getting it passed from the Sindh Assembly.

Nationalist elements are conspiring to ruin peace in Sindh at the behest of government agencies: MQM

The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement has appealed to the peaceful people of Sindh to thwart the vicious conspiracy by the so-called nationalists to ruin peace in Sindh by protests and strikes. It said that the representative political parties enjoying support of millions of people of Sindh had prepared a local government system in order to transfer power to the lowest levels.
The Co-ordination Committee said that the conscious people of Sindh knew it very well that the so-called nationalists work on the pay roll of the establishment, and they had always opposed any action which could benefit the people of Sindh. It said that the nationalist forces had not even been able to get a few hundred votes in elections or get a councilor elected.

The movement for truth and justice would reach its destiny thanks to the immortal sacrifices of the martyrs.
In his message on the 24th anniversary of the tragedies, Mr Hussain said that sacrifices in revolutionary movements promise success. If the workers and sympathizers associated with any movement do not shrink from offering sacrifices, success becomes their fate.

The 24th anniversary of the martyrs of the tragedies of 30th September and 1st October was observed by the MQM on Sunday with reverence and glowing tributes were paid to the martyrs. The main gathering was held in Lal Qila Ground in Azizabad in which fateha and recitation of the Holy Quran was offered for the blessings of the souls of the martyrs.
Deputy Conveners of the Co-ordination Committee Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani, Nasrin Jalil, ministers, Senators, MNAs, MPAs and office-bearers of different wings of the MQM, workers of units and sectors and relatives of the martyrs were also present on the occasion.
