Burying alive of a child in Khanewal is reminiscent of dark ages: MQM

The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has strongly condemned the burying alive of a newly born female child by her heard-hearted father in Khanewal in the Punjab. It said that the brutal incident was reminiscent of the dark ages. The incident had also shown that the light of knowledge and modern education had not yet reached in many areas of the country even in the 21st century. The hearts and minds of some people were still controlled by the medieval feudal customs and thoughts.

The MQM believes in the principle of “live and let live” and considers all the people living in Pakistan belonging to various religions as equal citizens of Pakistan.
