It is the Grace of Allah that the MQM holds such gatherings for forging Muslim unity: Religious Scholars
A Mehfil-i-Milad was organized by Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) in the Jinnah Ground Azizabad in continuation with the celebrations of Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH). Prominent religious scholars belonging to different schools of thought shed light on the different aspects of the noble life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and renowned naat khawans read naats.
Speaking on the occasion, Maulana Tanvirul Haque Thanvi said that Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was sent as a Teacher to build character. He said it was the Grace of Allah that the biggest demonstration of unity of Muslim was always held at Nine Zero by the efforts of the MQM.
He said that the truth and honesty were the hallmark of the politics of the MQM. He prayed for the good health and long life of MQM leader Mr Altaf Hussain.
Allama Abbas Kumaili said that the circumstances prevailing today were similar to those of the Early Makkan period. Wealth was the criteria for honour and power and the poor did not have the right to live an honourable life. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) changed everything and restored the dignity of mankind.
He said that the Shia and Sunni Ulema were being killed and hatred was being spread to create bad blood among Muslims. He said that all these things pointed to a conspiracy against the existence of the country.
He congratulated MQM leader Mr Altaf Hussain for holding the spiritual gathering to celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Other religious scholars including Allama Amir Abdullah Farooqi also spoke on the occasion.
