The United Nations and the international community should convince President Donald Trump to reduce tensions and refrain from placing unjust pressure on Iran. #IranWar #IranUSAIsraelWar As a result of the ongoing ceasefire between the United States and #Iran, Iran announced on Friday that it is reopening the Strait of Hormuz for maritime traffic. This move was welcomed with relief across the world. Celebrations were also seen in Pakistan. However, I anticipated it from the beginning that this was a “temporary ceasefire.” If a Second World War could occur after the First World War, the cessation of the ceasefire is no big deal. Subsequently, not even 24 hours had passed since Iran reopened the Strait of Hormuz, and signs of improvement began to diminish as disagreements arose in the ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran, proving the ceasefire to be temporary. For the improvement of the situation, Iran had reopened the Strait of Hormuz. However, in response, the United States neither lifted its naval blockade on Iran nor stopped issuing threats of bombing. As a result, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz once again. Now both countries are threatening each other, and tensions in the region have escalated again. My question is: when matters were moving towards peace, and Iran had reopened the Strait of Hormuz as part of negotiations, why did the United States not lift its naval blockade on Iran? Why did President announce the continuation of the naval blockade? The history and events depict that the United States, to maintain its dominance and control over rival countries, often takes actions that lead to wars. We appeal to the United Nations and the international community to convince President Donald Trump to reduce tensions by ending the naval blockade and refraining from placing unjust pressure on Iran. We believe that negotiations should not be conducted based on superiority or inferiority, but on the basis of equality, because the sovereignty and territorial integrity of every country hold equal importance. We must not forget that the United Nations was established to ensure respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and existence of all nations. Therefore, it is the need of the hour for the United Nations and the international community to play an effective role in ending the war and ensuring global peace and stability. I pray to Allah Almighty that the situation does not move towards the resumption of the US-Iran war, and that this conflict somehow comes to an end, and that lasting peace is established in the region.
