ABOUT ALTAF HUSSAIN- MQM CRACKDOWN - SPLINTER GROUPS

The militaryestablishment, the ruthless feudal lords, those elites who became filthy richthrough corruption and the corrupt bureaucrats of Pakistan continued toconspire against the MQM that has challenged the decayed system of the countryand that challenge was a direct blow to the vested designs of the militaryestablishment and those mentioned above. Since the MQM had the support ofcivilized and educated people of urban parts and cities of Sindh Province, thedevilish and tricky military establishment planned to create splinter groups inthe MQM to weaken the Movement, its political philosophy and ideology.

Pakistan's army and premierintelligence service ISI have always been interfering in politics. The role ofPakistan Army and ISI in the formation, division and destruction of politicalparties is not hidden from anyone. In order to control the country's institutions, even politics and the judiciary, it started todestabilize democracy from the very beginning through creating factions inpolitical parties through paid puppets. Military Establishment and ISIimplement their vested plans. Those showing resistance or defying the role ofthe military establishment are instantly declared spies of enemy countries andtraitors.

The First charge of treason - 1979: [first person witness]

Since day one, I, Altaf Hussain, thefounder of " All Pakistan Mohajir Students Organization or - APMSO hasbeen targeted by the military establishment, who had started implementing itsnotorious agenda to isolate me and for that purpose, they then launched ascheme under the idea of "Minus Altaf Formula". On June I I, 1978,when the APMSO was founded, martial law was in effect in Pakistan at that time.General Zia ul Haque was in power. At that time, the military establishmentkept making conspiracies to stop the rapidly growing popularity of myself amongthe students of the University of Karachi. At that time, the Cold War was goingon between America and Russia and Pakistan was playing the role of"proxy" in the war between Afghanistan and USSR now Russia. ISI wasfully involved in the Afghan war and was sending Mujahideen from Pakistan toAfghanistan through Jamat-e Islami. Pakistan Army and ISI provided allfacilities to Jamat-e Islami. In the municipal elections conducted by themilitary government in 1979 and 1983, Jamat-e Islami was imposed. Abdul SattarAfghani, who belonged to Jamat-e Islami, was crowned as the Karachi Mayor. Thearmy imposed the

Jamate Islami student wing known as IslamiJamiat Talba in University of Karachi and formed the Jamat's Thunder Squad forarmed terrorism and equipped them weapons.

When my popularity and APMSO startedincreasing day by day in University of Karachi and

Mohajir students started uniting onthe platform of APMSO in the student union elections,

under a systematic conspiracy plan, on 3rdFebruary 1981, the terrorists of the Thunder Squad of the Islamic Jamiat Talbaattacked the APMSO admission stalls in Karachi University, which were set up toguide the students coming for new admissions. Violent attacks were at apex andeven female students were chased and targeted. The admissions guiding stallswere destroyed.

The University of Karachiadministration and Police did not take any action against the

Thunder Squad terrorists.Instead the founder of APMSO, Altaf Hussain was restricted to enter universitypremises. Any workers of APMSO who tried to go to any educational institutionwould be tortured by the terrorists of Thunder Squad.

Having been thrown out forcefully atgun point by the members of the Thunder Squad (IJT), from the University ofKarachi, I and my colleagues started the struggle for the rights of

Mohajirs at the public level inKarachi, Hyderabad and other cities of Sindh. After untiring three years ofeffort, it was decided through mutual consultation that a public party named"Mohajir Qaumi Movement" (Mohajir National Movement) should be formedin cities of Sindh. The military establishment reacted instantly and patronizedDr Salim Haider, a central member of APMSO, to harm the movement and conspireto divide it through him. Under this conspiracy, Dr Salim Haider announced theformation of the Mohajir Ittehad Tehreek (MIT), at ISI's dictation.

Similarly, after some time, anothersenior member of APMSO, Shamoon Abrar, separated on the instructions of thearmy and ISI and formed a separate organization called "Pakistan MohajirFront". Despite this division, we continued our struggle and on March 18,1984, I founded Mohajir Qaumi Movement (MQM).

Why they opposed the philosophy of MQM ?

Before MQM, participation inelections were considered the right of only feudal lords and elite class, however educated and talented people belonging to the poor and middle class ofthe country could not even imagine participating in elections. MQM is the onlyparty in Pakistan which has given opportunity to the educated and talentedpeople of the poor and middle class in the outdated feudal system of thecountry to represent the people in the local and general elections so that therights of the poor and middle class people can be discussed in the Parliament.MQM wanted to abolish the outdated feudal system, dynasty politics and themonopoly of 2 percent elite class and establish true democracy. MQM's idea ofruling by the poor and middle class gained popularity in other provinces of thecountry as well. On the occasion of my participation in the public meeting ofthe Muslim League held at Minar-e Pakistan, Lahore on March 23, 1990, thepeople of Punjab met me in large number and joined MQM. On behalf of the 98 %poor and oppressed people across the country, the process of awareness againstthe outdated feudal system started to spread rapidly and people from otherprovinces and other nations started joining MQM. The military establishment didnot like this and started a series of conspiracies against the MQM to stop itfrom spreading across the country. Because the concept of the rule of the poorand middle class was not acceptable to the military establishment of Pakistan, and even today the military establishment does not want to see true democracyin Pakistan, it wants to deprive the people of the right to rule by repeatedlyinterfering in politics.

MQM emerged as a Parliamentary Party:

In 1987 local body elections wereheld, MQM participated in them, and became victorious in two of the largestcities of Pakistan, namely Karachi and Hyderabad, in both the cities the Mayorsand Deputy Mayors were elected unopposed.

MQM continued to gainpublic popularity with every passing day, MQM took part in all the consecutivegeneral elections held in 1988 & 1990, MQM achieved landslide victories inall the successive elections under my leadership, and emerged as the 3rd largestpolitical party at the federal level and 2nd largest at the provincial level inSindh province of Pakistan and maintained its popularity.

Despite repeated warnings, the corruption, criminal activities and serious violations of organisational discipline by AfaqAhmed, Aamir Khan and others continued and instead of reforming, they continuedto act obstinately. They were working on a dangerous plan to harm MQM bystaying in MQM. When these reports were confirmed after all the investigations, the Central Committee of MQM announced on March 7, 1991 , the expulsion ofseveral zonal and sector in-charges including Afaq Ahmed, Amir Khan, Badar Iqbal, etc., from MQM. This was announced by the Central Committee of MQM in adetailed statement which was published in Urdu and English newspapers on March8, 1991 (Newspaper clippings available).

Having been expelled fromMQM, these defected members were sent to America by the ISI. The army and theISI met with Afaq Ahmed and Aamir Khan in America to implement their plan.Later, they were brought to Lahore, the capital of Pakistan's Punjab province, and there, along with close associates, an attack on MQM offices in Karachi wasplanned. On June 1 8, 1991, Afaq Ahmed and Aamir Khan, under the guidance andleadership of the army and ISI, along with their other criminal elements, attacked the regional office of MQM in Landhi area of Karachi.

Afaq Ahmed and Amir Khan formed theirgroup as MQM Haqiqi who were given a task to complete the agenda by occupyingthe offices of other areas with the help of the army. When the news of theattack on the MQM office and the abduction of MQM officials spread among thepeople of Landhi and other areas, the people protested. On this, the Haqiqiterrorists armed with weapons started firing on the people. Due to the strongpublic resistance, Afaq Ahmed and Amir Khan were assisted by the ISI to escapefrom the area under their protection. When the people of the area stopped a carand caught the brother of a Haqiqi terrorist and the armed men with him, thesemen said that they belong to the army. When asked to confirm this, he showedhis army identity card. Among them, an army officer Major Kaleem and other armypersonnel who were not in uniform, ISI identity cards were also recovered fromthem, these details are on record.

Attack on me

Despite the powers and resources, the military establishment faced shameful defeat continuously, then a plan washatched to murder me. The ISI had planned to kill me and had formed variousgroups for this purpose. On December 21, 1991, when I returned to Karachi aftermy medical treatment in London my convoy was returning to my residence inAzizabad area, at Ayesha Manzil intersection, two terrorists attempted to killme with grenades, in which I survived, the bombs exploded in their hands whichresulted in their deaths.

After this attack, MQM centralcommittee and all office bearers requested that my life is in serious danger inPakistan, therefore I should lead the party from London.

Military operation against MQM

The Haqiqi terrorists escaped toPunjab province of Pakistan, where the military establishment kept them undertheir protection, which has been mentioned by the Punjab Inspector General ofPolice Sardar Muhammad Chaudhry in his book The Ultimate Crime.

In 1992, the peace and ordersituation in Karachi was very ideal while the army wanted to carry out anoperation against the MQM. So, the army first carried out murders, kidnappingsfor ransom through its agents in other cities of Karachi and Sindh to justifythe crackdown against the MQM. Based on these actions, the army launched anoperation against the

MQM. MQM was part of thecoalition government of Federation and Muslim League in Sindh. In the NationalAssembly, the then Federal Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain stated thatoperation clean-up will be conducted against 72 big fishes in Sindh who are involvedin harboring criminals, kidnapping for ransom and other criminal activities, but the action against those 72 big fishes was directed toward the MQM instead. That list was also presented several times in the House of the NationalAssembly. In fact, the purpose of this list was to justify the arrival of thearmy in Sindh, i.e. to create the reasons and basis for the army's entry intoSindh. In this way, the whole world was told that this operation will not beagainst the MQM and Mohajirs, but it will be against 72 big criminals and theinternational community was kept unaware of the fact that the real target ofthe army and the government is the MQM and Mohajirs.

I had already understoodthe intentions and plans of the military establishment. That's why, I wasconstantly informing the workers and the public that this operation would neverbe against criminals, robbers, kidnappers and their patrons, but under the guiseof an army operation against 72 big fishes, an operation has been plannedagainst the Mohajirs and their representative political party, MQM.

Before the military operationagainst MQM, the army hid all the defectors of MQM in Malir

Cantonment. When themilitary operation against MQM was launched on June 19, 1992, the Haqiqiterrorists were brought to the city on military trucks to fight with the MQMworkers, if the MQM workers resisted, they were made to clash with the army, but we Instead of fighting them, directed all the workers to remain peacefuland go into hiding instead of confronting these criminal elements.

Criminals, Haqiqi terrorists withthe help of the army carried out armed attacks on MQM offices and houses ofparty workers in all areas of Karachi, occupied the offices, kidnapped many MQMleaders, members of assembly, office bearers and workers and held them hostageat gunpoint. Loyalties were asked to change and those who refused were torturedand killed by Haqiqi terrorists. The leadership of MQM kept informing thefederal and provincial governments about those attacks and requested them totake action against the Haqiqi, but no action was taken. I was in London, andcoincidentally, the then-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was also visiting Londonat that time. I informed and requested him to intervene immediately and controlthe situation. 1--1e said that he would see, but he didn't do anything in thisregard.

Because the government had a clearmessage from the army that the Haqiqi terrorists are their proxies, no actionshould be taken against them, no interference should be made in any of theirwork. Under the auspices of the army, these Haqiqi terrorists had completelyoccupied different areas of Karachi and made them No-Go Areas for MQM workers.

In that deadliest militaryoperation, on the one hand, the Haqiqi terrorist group had full patronage, andon the other hand, MQM workers were being arrested, they were going missing, thousands of workers were imprisoned in jails, and hundreds of workers left thecountry to save their lives. In 1992, Claimant Aminul Haque also switched hispolitical allegiance to the Army and joined the MQM Haqiqi, a group formed bythe Army.

This proxy group had the fullpatronage of the army. The then Army Chief General Asif

Nawaz Janjua openly supported thedivision of MQM and this proxy group. This statement of General Asif Nawaz ison record, which was published in daily Jang on October 24, 1992. In thisstatement, General Asif Nawaz said, "There are at least half a dozenMuslim Leagues in the country and one or more factions from almost every party. If they can exist peacefully, why can't the opposite factions of MQMexist?" (General Asif Nawaz Janjua's statement is available). This groupformed under the auspices of the army, which called itself "MQMHaqiqi", had the same flag as MQM, but in reality, under the plan preparedby the army and the ISI, it was to kill the leadership of the MQM from Karachi,to use weapons. To end the political vacuum created after that, Army and ISIwere brought in to help and protect. This has been admitted by Aamir Khanhimself in a TV interview (Express TV clip available).

Conspiracies to establish more groups in MQM

Though the military establishmenthad utterly failed to gain the desired results, the military establishmentcontinued its conspiracies against the MQM to weaken it. As in 1992, the thenArmy Chief General Asif Nawaz Janjua and the ISI, created Haqiqi group. Thegroup was formed and just as the main leaders of MQM, Afaq Ahmed, Aamir Khanand many others were bought to lead the group, the army and its agencies boughtthe main leaders of MQM in 2013 to create more groups in MQM such as MustafaKamal and others. At that time, the

Army Chief of the country wasGeneral Raheel Sharif and Director General ISI Rizwan

Akhtar. General Rizwan Akhtar wasthe DG Rangers in Karachi before becoming DG ISI.

As DG Rangers a web of dangerousconspiracies started forming against MQM, which had been expressed in athreatening manner in front of some leaders of MQM. General Rizwan Akhtar wasnot only committing corruption on a large scale by using his position illegally, but was also sponsoring criminal groups to weaken MQM, including a notoriouscriminal group in Lyari area of Karachi.

MQM criticized the illegal actionsof General Rizwan Akhtar, so he started sending false and fabricated reportsagainst MQM to the headquarters of Pakistan Army, GHQ. Some biased generals inGHQ were also supporters of General Rizwan Akhtar's thinking. At that time,General Raheel Sharif was the country's army chief. Therefore, on the basis ofthe false reports prepared by GeneralRizwan Akhtar, a plan was prepared in the GHQ and ISI headquarters to dividethe MQM into several groups. This plan was the same that was presented by the then ArmyChief General Asif Nawaz in 1992 and to implement it, he started a militaryoperation against the MQM on June 19, 1992 and formed a Haqiqi splinter group.Just like in 1991, the central leaders of that time Afaq Ahmed, Aamir Khan andtheir like-minded people started action against MQM while they were in MQM onthe guidance of army and ISI. Similarly, in 2013, Deputy Convener of MQMCoordination Committee Anees Qaim Khani and Senator Mustafa Kamal, instead ofworking for MQM's manifesto and goals, started taking internal actions whichharmed the interests and good name of the party, to avoid disciplinary actionthey left the country on the instructions of the ISI.

In 2015 1 also exposed that themilitary establishment were fetching some traitors of MQM from abroad toPakistan's capital city, Islamabad. The military junta had conspired to createa parallel splinter MQM. The designs were timely exposed.

After General Rizwan Akhtar wasrelieved by General Bilal Akbar as DG Rangers Sindh province, the new DG alsocontinued to execute the conspiracies prepared against MQM as General RizwanAkhtar did. General Bilal Akbar called specific journalists from Punjab tospread frustration among MQM leaders, parliamentarians and party officials andto make them accept and follow the "minus Altar' formula and told themthat Altaf Hussain is suffering from an incurable disease and that doctors hadnumbered his days in this world.

This was revealed by an anchor ofPakistan, Rauf Klasra, in a TV talk show. (video available). In 2015, themilitary establishment was preparing to form a new party consisting of AneesQaim Khani and Mustafa Kamal and some others to weaken the MQM politically.

On the other hand, the militaryestablishment made the MQM follow its old "minus Altaf" formula. Hestarted trapping the members of the coordination committee and theparliamentarians in his conspiratorial net. All this was being done on the onehand. On the other hand, the militaryestablishment had also started an operation against MQM as part of itsnefarious plans to eliminate MQM. MQM workers were being arrested and forciblydisappeared. In one incident, four or five MQM workers were arrested and killedin ISI's torture cells and their bodies were dumped. I raised my voice againstthose atrocities and in September 2015, the military establishment imposed aban on my statements, speech, photos and even taking my name on the print andelectronic media. Paramilitary Rangers even started taking down my pictures onposters, Pana flex and billboards put up by MQM supporters in Karachi andHyderabad. On March I I, 2015, Paramilitary Rangers raided MQM's head officeNine Zero in Azizabad, Karachi to intensify operations against MQM and shot andkilled an MQM worker, Waqas Ali Shah, and arrested several MQM office bearers, workers, residents of the area. Along with working labourers, and they alsoarrested my relatives while they were not in any political party. Thosearrested were implicated in false cases and fabricated reports against themwere aired in the media to mislead the people.

Despite those atrocities by the armyand ISI, the people continued to support the MQM. In spite of the massive raidon Nine Zero in March 2015 and the propaganda of ISI, in April 2015, MQM wonwith a huge majority in the by-election of National Assembly Constituency NA 246 which was closelymonitored by Army and Paramilitary Rangers in Azizabad.

Similarly, MQM achieved a historic victoryin the municipal elections held in December 2015.

The people gave MQM a bettermandate. Opposition parties could win only a few seats in Karachi compared toMQM. Seeing their conspiratorial plans failing, the military establishmentintensified its operations against the MQM. On the one hand, MQM workers weretargeted by ISI's trained and professional killers daily, and on the otherhand, MQM workers were arrested and disappeared. The mutilated bodies of theworkers started being thrown. A series of raids were also started on the headoffice of MQM, known as Nine Zero and other offices. The MPs of MQM tenderedtheir resignations from Parliament in a peaceful protest against thoseatrocities, but the brutality of the military establishment continued.

Creation of splinter group Pak Sarzameen Party - PSP

The military establishment broughtAnees Qaim Khani and Mustafa Kamal from abroad to

Karachi on March 3, 2016 as part oftheir plan to create a new splinter group from within the MQM. They held a veryoffensive press conference held at ISI's bungalow in KhayabanSehar, the city'sposh DHA (Defense Housing Authority) based on false allegations against

MQM. Then a new splintergroup "PSP" was announced. The military establishment providedMustafa Kamal and Anees Qaim Khani with luxurious bungalows, cars and money andall kinds of facilities and full security of police and paramilitary rangers inthe most expensive area of Defense in Karachi, which is still available today.

The MQM workers and Mohajir nationrejected the PSP and then the ISI started pressuring them to join the PSP byarresting the MQM workers and officials and torturing them in custody. Theleader of MQM, any member of the coordination committee who held a pressconference on this matter and brought the facts before the people, wasthreatened and harassed by the paramilitary rangers and ISI officials. Themembers of the Coordination Committee and the Members of the Parliament fromthe Rangers Headquarters were threatened and pressured to leave me (AltafHussain) and join the PSP.

MQMP, another faction created by the military establishment

Besides the launching of thesplinter group, PSP, the military establishment offered a parallel option tojoin the splinter PSP or MQMP. At the same time, the state operation againstthe MQM was accelerated under the Minus Altaf Hussain formula by the militaryestablishment. Like other workers of MQM, another senior worker of MQM, AftabAhmed, was also the coordinator of the then Senior Deputy Convener of the MQM,Dr

Farooq Sattar. On May I, 2016, theparamilitary Rangers, on the orders of the then DG Rangers Major General BilalAkbar, arrested and in custody charged with third degree torture. Consequent tothe brutal torture for three continuous days, Aftab Ahmed succumbed to hisinjuries. The paramilitary Rangers claimed that Aftab Ahmed died as a result ofcardiac arrest, but when the body of Aftab Ahmed was handed over to the heirs, his whole body was full of vehement torture. When the pictures came out onmedia, DG Rangers General Bilal Akbar admitted that Aftab Ahmed had beentortured in custody. (Newspaper clipping available). The then Army ChiefGeneral Rahil Sharif announced an investigation into the incident, but noinvestigation into the extrajudicial killing of Aftab Ahmed was conducted andthose responsible were not punished and such incidents continued. TheCoordination Committee of the MQM protested. On August 17, 2016, they started ahunger strike at the Karachi Press Club while peacefully protesting against theviolation of human rights, but extra judicial killings, enforced disappearancesand illegal arrests of MQM workers were continuing

On August 22nd 2016 during thehunger strike the military establishment intensified the ongoing stateoperation against the MQM, on the basis of my stance and my condemnationseveral offices of the MQM were bulldozed and arbitrary arrests of both men andwomen were carried. On the night of August 22, 2016, the army detained DrFarooq Sattar, Khawaja Izharul 1--lasan from Karachi Press Club. The other day, both of them were released. Dr Farooq Sattar along with Khawaja Izharul Hasanand other members of the coordination committee of the MQM and the members ofthe assembly held a press conference at the Karachi Press Club and announcedtheir indifference from me

Later, he managed to table aresolution against me in provincial assembly of Sindh which was passed, whichcarried a demand for trying me under article 6 of the constitution for treasonand the minimum sentence is capital punishment. Dr Farooq Sattar, Aamir Khan,Khawaja Izharul Hasan and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui along with others, amendedthe MQM's constitution illegally by implementing the formula of the militaryestablishment for minus Altaf Hussain. They unlawfully amended the constitutionof the MQM, removed me as leader and announced zero connections with me. Theyannounced a separate party "MQMP" which, although it used the flagand electoral symbol of the MQM, but with an altered constitution. It was acompletely different and new party consisting of those who had decidedlyseparated from me and who took a new path, which refused to have any connectionwith anything related to me, which was not a continuation of MQM in any way,but had a separate new identity of its own. Since this new party called 'MQMP'was created by the military establishment, like Haqiqi group, MQMP also startedthreatening the MQM workers to join them at the behest of the militaryestablishment and the ISI. The leaders and workers of the MQM refused to gowith them, they were arrested by the paramilitary Rangers and disappeared andthose workers were in the custody of government agencies until they were readyto join the MQMP. or this purpose they even arrested many women workers of MQMby the agencies.

MQMP, formed by themilitary establishment, got patronized and enjoys ministerial portfolios in theImran Khan government, also formed by the military establishment, includingClaimant Amin ul Haq.

After the end of the Imran Khangovernment, Aminul Haq was awarded the ministry in the current government ofthe Muslim League-N. Due to the strong support of the military establishment,MQMP has the freedom to organize political meetings, processions, contestelections and all kinds of political activities. On the other hand, my MQM isnot allowed to do political activities. Workers and families of the martyrs ofthe MQM are not allowed to visit graveyards to offer rituals. A senior MQMleader and Deputy Convenor of the Coordination Committee, 72-year-old ProfessorDr Hasan Zafar Arif, was also arrested twice and kept in illegal detention for6 months, even after being released on bail, the threat persisted. On 13thJanuary 2018, he was kidnapped and subsequently killed.

Similarly, another coordinationcommittee member, Saathi Ishaq Advocate also a former judge, was arrested andtortured for several days. Even today, many MQM workers have been enforcedlydisappeared, thousands of innocent workers are imprisoned in different jails onfalse cases. They are not produced in courts and they are being torturedillegally in the jails. MQMP has not only created a fake MQM by following theMinus Altaf formula of the establishment but also seized all the welfarecenters and assets of its welfare organization, Khidmat-e Khalq Foundation, orK KF (Foundation for serving humanity). Anyone on behalf of MQM, tried to seeklegal redress, either gone missing or is being kept in detention.

MQM HeadOffice "Nine Zero" Burned Down and Bulldozed

In continuation of the ambush, onthe night of 9 September 2022, Nine Zero was set on fire in the presence ofparamilitary Rangers and Army personnel and was subsequently demolished. Thiswas a pre-planned operation aimed at erasing Nine Zero from existence.

Regarding the fire incident, lawenforcement agencies falsely claimed that the cause of the fire was a shortcircuit. This claim was completely false and fabricated, as electricity to NineZero had been disconnected since August 2016, both my house, 494/8 Azizabad,

Federal B Area, Karachi, also known asMQM's head office "Nine Zero", and Khursheed Begum

Memorial Public Secretariat(MQMSecretariat), and other offices were already sealed at that time.

Additionally, more than 200 MQM officessituated in Karachi and across the country were sealed or demolished by thePakistan Army. All of this was inflicted on me because I called out theinhumane treatment/brutal murders of my workers by the Pakistan Army.

Since 22 August 2016, paramilitary Rangersand Army personnel had been deployed around Nine Zero 24/7, and no one wasallowed to enter the premises. In the Army's presence, the house was engulfed,as their personnel did not move from even for a second.

Forreference, here is the Daily Dawn report on the mysterious fire at Nine Zero:https://www.dawn.com/news/print/1709260

understand inlight of the above historical facts that the claimant (referred to claimant, the new faction of MQM named MQM-P, who sued the original MQM led by AltafHussain in the High Courts of London) is supported by the militaryestablishment behind the case filed by the MQMP (Aminul Haq) over ownership ofparty properties in London.

The above-mentioned facts are clearproof that the claims by the MQMP regarding assets in London are fake anddeceptive.

MQMP is a group formed under theauspices of the Army and the ISI, whose aim is to work on the "minus AltafHussain" formula of the military establishment and to target the diasporafor nefarious purposes of the establishment. The military establishment'stargets are the unity of Mohajirs, MQM, and Altaf Hussain.

In 2012, a money launderinginvestigation against MQM was opened in the UK by the Metropolitan police, anddue to the insufficient evidence, no charge was brought. Subsequently, thematter was closed on 7th November 2016. This is a testament of MQM and Mr.Hussain's stance that all the funds credited to both are legal and are sourcedby donations/gifts from its workers/followers/supporters.

In 2019, the CPS registered a casein London under the Terrorism Act 2006 based on a complaint from the PakistaniState. This case concerned Altaf Hussain's speech onAugust 22, 2016, inKarachi, during a hunger strike camp organized by MQM outside the Karachi PressClub, where he criticized the Pakistan Army for extra-judicially killing MQMworkers and making them disappear. Mr. Hussain was unanimously acquitted by thejury in 2022 at Stratford-upon-Thames Crown Court. This serves as anotherexample of the legal battles initiated and pursued by the Pakistan Army in theUK against Mr. Hussain.

The Pakistan Military has been usingits full force and state machinery to silence Mr. Hussain in the UK, for whichthey have choked him financially, by starting sham and vexatious litigations, causing him severe financial constraints.
