Police and Para military Rangers arrested dozens of MQM workers including women in Karachi to crush “ MartyrsDay ”

Police, Para military Rangers andother security forces arrested dozens of MQM workers including women in Karachito crush “ Martyrs Day “ called by MQM today.

It’s learned that MQM observes “MartyrsDay“ on 9th December every year, MQM workers and supporters go to themonument of martyrs situated in Jinnah ground Azizabad, Karachi, for offeringfateha and pay tribute to  their martyrswho lost their lives during state operations.

Thousands of Mohajir men, women and childrenwho gathered this morning in Azizabad but Police and Rangers blockaded allareas leading to the monument, forcefully shutdown business, and hundreds ofillegal arrests are taking place at the time of writing this notice.

Mohajir Men, Women, children, the elderlywere not spared by the Police and Para-Military Rangers tear -gassed them, brutallytortured them, and indiscriminately abducted hundreds of peaceful Men, Womenand children who were shifted to unknown locations. 

MQM founder leader Altaf Hussainstrongly condemns the large scale arrests of Mohajir Men, Women, children byPolice and Para Military Rangers and called it a naked terrorism by the state.

He said that in Pakistan, bannedoutfits and religious laskhkars are free to hold violent demonstrationsbut Mohajir nation in general and MQM workers in particular are facing thecomplete ban of their peaceful activities, they are not allowed to pay tributeand offer fateha for their martyrs. a right which is guaranteed under theConstitution of Pakistan and recognised under international conventions

Mr. Altaf Hussain said that  Mohajirs till date have not been recognisedas equal class citizens, the state has resorted to state led operations toensure that the only liberal voice of their leader Mr Altaf Hussain issilenced.

He demanded that the state forces toimmediately release all workers, and to halt this ongoing brutal stateoperations against the Mohajirs.
