The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr. Altaf Hussain strongly condemned the illegal raid on Dr Farooq Sattar’s house and cordon off the entire area by the Rangers on Tuesday night.

In a statement issued from London Secretariat, MQM Chief termed the incident sheer violation of the Constitution and an open state barbarism. He said that the Rangers personnel raided on Dr Farooq’s home and hit the doors with riffles and boots also insulted the wife and sister of the veteran politician.

Mr. Hussain said that the residents were not allowed to go to perform their Tarawee prayers during the several hours long cordon off of the area. He said that such barbarism in the month of Ramadan was unprecedented and should strongly be condemned.

He asked the Rangers’ authorities that under which law they raided the house of a senior Parliamentarian and insulted his family members and damaged his political goodwill. He said despite arresting the terrorists of Al-Qiada and other banned outfits, the Law Enforcement Agencies put their all potential to humiliate and create fear among the workers and supporters of MQM.

Mr. Hussain demanded to stop such activism from the Rangers and also stopped arbitrary arrests of MQM workers. Meanwhile, MQM Chief telephoned Dr Farooq’s home and talked to the veteran politician and his family. He offered his heartfelt sympathies to the family and said that he personally felt pain of entire drama created by the Rangers.
