Terrorism is our common enemy and we must get united to fight against it successfully
President of Awami National Party telephoned International Secretariat of Muttahida Quami Movement and condoled with Mr Altaf Hussain on the martyrdom of MQM MPA Syed Manzar Imam. He said that the ANP is with the MQM on this tragic incident and added the ANP would take part in the mourning being observed by the MQM. He said that the leaders of the ANP Sindh would attend the funeral of the deceased MPA.
Mr Wali said, “Terrorism is our common enemy. Neither you nor we can fight against this enemy alone. We will not be able to combat terrorism unless we get united and make concerted efforts.”
Mr Hussain agreed with the views of Mr Wali and said, “We must wake up to the situation and get united on the single point agenda to fight against the elements that are carrying out terrorism in the name of Islam. Negligence would cause irreparable damage to the country.”
Reminiscing about Khan Abdul Wali Khan, Mr Hussain said, “When I was in jail conspiracies were being hatched to create feud between the Mohajir’s and the Pashtun’s. I wrote a letter to Khan Abdul Wali Khan and together we foiled the conspiracy.”
“I want to establish brotherly relations with the Pakhtun people and I do not want to fight them.”
Mr Wali said, “We have to walk on the same path as we have no other option. It is the need of the time that we get united and become one.”
Both the leaders agreed on working together for curbing terrorism.
