Karachi provides the most money to the national treasury, but it does not receive its fair portion.
The Pakistan Peoples Party has governed Sindh for the last 18 years, but its policies have harmed Karachi, which is the capital of Sindh.
The drainage system in Karachi is completely ruined. Young children are getting trapped in uncovered manholes and are dying because the lids are absent.
The streets in the city look like they are falling apart. The residents of Karachi lack good access to water, electricity, and gas, but they still get bills that are thousands of rupees for these basic services.
The safety conditions in the city have worsened significantly. Women find it challenging to walk by themselves, and there are cases of them being kidnapped.
Gun-wielding thieves are openly taking bags, phones, and bikes from women and young people.
If someone puts up a fight, they are shot and killed. However, the police, Rangers, and other agencies in charge of keeping the peace are not protecting the people and their belongings in Karachi.
It truly breaks my heart to witness the state of Karachi. The people are well aware that prior to the action against MQM, I had fostered an environment in the city where women and girls could go to weddings and other events at night without any worries or threats.
No one could even imagine getting close to them. The people felt safe.
I want to share a message with the people of Karachi, especially the young ones, and also our mothers and sisters. Since the police, Rangers, and other safety agencies are not giving you the protection you need for your lives and belongings, it is important that you get gun licenses legally and have licensed weapons for your own safety.
If someone tries to steal from you or take you away, you should be ready to protect yourselves.
