The contributions of the late Shumaila Imran to the organization remain etched in memory: Altaf Hussain. #ShumailaImranRIP This statement was made following the funeral service for the esteemed MQM activist, Shumaila Imran, held at the Regent Park Mosque in London. LONDON. [UK]. December 24: The founding leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Mr Altaf Hussain, remarked that the organizational efforts of the revolutionary martyr Dr Imran Farooq and his wife, Shumaila Imran, are truly memorable, asserting that her passing is akin to a martyr’s death. He shared these reflections during a conversation with reporters after the funeral prayer for the respected MQM member. In honoring Shumaila Imran, Mr Hussain highlighted that she had become involved with the MQM at an early age, and over the years, her dedication and bond with the movement deepened. He mentioned that the late Shumaila had authored a book titled "Martyrs of the Path of Truth," which contained the stories of martyrs. To create this work, she personally visited the families of each MQM martyr, gathering comprehensive accounts and details of their sacrifices, resulting in a significant historical document. Shumaila Imran was not only the spouse of the martyr Dr Imran Farooq but also an active member of the MQM. Regarding her interment, he stated that the MQM's loyal members were fulfilling every possible obligation to support her family through this difficult time. As per her wishes, she will be buried in Karachi next to her late father. Meanwhile, MQM representatives and supporters in Karachi are dedicated to assisting her grieving family, welcoming visitors offering condolences, and preparing for her final rites. Mr Hussain noted that the Pakistan High Commission provided full assistance in repatriating Shumaila Imran’s remains from London to Karachi. He mentioned reaching out to the Pakistani High Commissioner in London, Dr Faisal, to seek his help. The compassion, respect, and kindness displayed by Dr Faisal in his cooperation are truly commendable, and he deserves sincere gratitude and prayers. When asked about her children, Mr Hussain noted that both of Shumaila Imran’s sons are still quite young. He offered them a home, and efforts are underway to transfer the property in Burnt Oak, opposite Edgware Hospital, which has been funded by the MQM, into their names, ensuring they can live comfortably and pursue their education. Mr Altaf Hussain concluded with prayers for Shumaila Imran’s elevated status in the afterlife and for her family to find strength and patience as they mourn.
