The Founder and Leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Mr. Altaf Hussain, addressing Pakistan’s Muftis and religious scholars, stated that war is currently ongoing between two Muslim countries — #Pakistan and #Afghanistan — while #Iran continues to face successive attacks by Israel and the United States.

He said that it was expected of Pakistan’s Muftis and religious scholars to guide the nation in the light of the Qur’an and Sunnah, explaining what Islamic principles and religious rulings say regarding these wars and attacks. However, regrettably and tragically, instead of providing guidance to the nation, Pakistan’s religious scholars has chosen to maintain what can only be described as a criminal silence.

Mr. Altaf Hussain stated that Pakistan’s Muftis and scholars readily invoke verses of the Holy Qur’an and Hadith to undermine one another over secondary religious disputes, often going as far as issuing declarations of disbelief against opposing viewpoints. Yet when it comes to the war between Pakistan and Afghanistan, or the repeated Israeli and American attacks on Iran — including airstrikes and missile attacks resulting in the deaths of thousands of Muslims, including women and children — Pakistan’s religious leadership has remained completely silent, as if their voices have been deliberately locked away.
He further said that every citizen of Pakistan seeks clear answers from the country’s Muftis and religious scholars. The nation demands that they either respond to these pressing questions or permanently cease using Qur’anic verses and Hadith references to attack one another and declare others unbelievers on lesser issues in the future
