The 27th Constitutional Amendment saying that the move aims to beef up control over the country and alter its structure from top to bottom.

LONDON. [UK]. October 26: Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) founding leader and Supremo Altaf Hussain has showed grave concerns over the government’s tactful maneuvers to bring forth a new Constitutional amendment, the 27th Constitutional Amendment saying that the move aims to beef up control over the country and alter its structure from top to bottom.
In his 338th public speech broadcast live on TikTok Altaf Hussain said that although circumstances might change and the amendment could be postponed there appear to be no real obstacles in its way. He predicted that similar to the 26th Amendment the 27th Amendment is also likely to be passed easily leading to even more difficult years ahead for the people of Pakistan and causing great harm to the nation.
Criticising the judicial system Hussain said that from the lower courts to the Supreme Court the entire judicial structure has failed to deliver justice to the people and instead has been openly violating the law.
He questioned where citizens should turn to end the injustices they face and who they should approach for justice.
Referring to past incidents Hussain recalled that Professor Dr Hassan Zafar Arif Deputy Convener of MQM’s Coordination Committee was arrested tortured and later killed after being abducted from Karachi’s Defence area in January 2018. He said that the body of Prof. Dr Arif was found in the coastal area of Rehri Goth.
Similarly, he mentioned another senior MQM leader Aftab Baqai who was arrested twice tortured and later passed away due to deteriorating health.
Hussain also highlighted the recent abduction of MQM Coordination Committee members Nisar Panhwar and Anwar Khan Tareen on September 16 2025. Despite the matter being reported to police and a petition being filed in the High Court the case was repeatedly adjourned showing that even judges have continued to violate the law openly he said.
Citing another example Hussain mentioned Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Khan Afridi a tribal youth from a middleclass background who faced obstacles before his election as Chief Minister.
He said that despite court orders permitting Afridi to meet PTI founder Imran Khan in Adiala Jail the meeting was not allowed.
He questioned whether the existence of courts in Pakistan had become meaningless and whether the country could still claim to possess a functional judicial system.
According to him, the judicial system in Pakistan has completely collapsed.
He likened the judges to a lion whose teeth and claws have been removed and who is left helpless and starving.
He said that the judges have been stripped of their authority and intellect while the scales of justice have been taken away from them making it useless for citizens to expect justice.
Hussain also criticised PTI leaders for what he described as playing the game of courts instead of adopting a decisive plan for the release of Imran Khan who has been imprisoned for two years.
He warned that a nation deprived of justice ultimately faces threats to its security and existence.
He urged the people of Pakistan to step forward and make sacrifices for the sake of justice declaring that no destination in history has ever been achieved without sacrifice.
