Altaf Hussain’s Vision and
political manifesto:
Only a party led by Altaf Hussain is capable of revolutionising Pakistan's corrupt political system. This party has the potential to transform the lives of the oppressed, deprived, and marginalized people.
Altaf Hussain belongs to the lower middle class; he understands the pain and hardships of the poor. He knows what it is like to stand in long queues at public hospitals for treatment. He knows the anguish of people who hang from overcrowded buses while commuting, and he understands the challenges educated youth face when searching for jobs. Those who are born with a silver spoon can never truly understand the suffering of Pakistan’s poor and lower middle class. Only someone who has lived through these problems knows how to solve them. A person who has never faced these hardships cannot claim to solve the public’s issues.
It was to change Pakistan’s outdated feudal system that Altaf Hussain entered politics forty seven years ago. Altaf Hussain is not an enemy of any ethnic group; he is a friend of the poor Punjabis, Balochs, Sindhis, Pashtuns, peasants, farmers, and laborers. He stands firmly against cruel feudal lords and landowners, and he says that if he comes to power, he will eliminate Pakistan’s centuries old feudal system just as India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru did after independence, when he abolished feudalism and distributed surplus land among poor farmers and peasants. MQM believes that Pakistan’s powerful landlords who possess thousands of acres should be allowed to keep only the land they genuinely need, and the remaining land should be redistributed to poor farmers, peasants, and tenants.
He also vows to abolish the dual education system in the country and replace it with a single, uniform system where both the children of the rich and the poor study the same curriculum. Similarly, to provide quality healthcare to the poor, government hospitals will be upgraded to the standards of developed countries so that both rich and poor receive the best medical treatment in the same facilities. As a result, wealthy people will choose treatment in public hospitals instead of going abroad.
MQM has a strict stance against corruption and bribery. It maintains zero tolerance. There is no place in MQM for anyone involved in corruption or bribery, whether it is Altaf Hussain’s own brother or any office bearer of the movement. No one will be forgiven; they will be punished. Altaf Hussain wants a corruption-free Pakistan where everyone would enjoy equal rights, where all are subject to the law, and where no one in the civilian or military bureaucracy can engage in corruption.
Altaf Hussain.
