We thank you for coming to attend this press conference. This press conference has been called to inform the people of Pakistan about the love and honour which the people belonging to various nationalities living in Karachi, particularly the Pashtun people, have for MQM Founder and Leader Mr Altaf Hussain.

Mr Altaf Hussain has given the message of love, peace, tolerance, brotherhood and unity in his preaching. Today the philosophy of MQM has reached in all four provinces including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Karachi is a cosmopolitan city of various nationalities. MQM has been organizing historical public meetings of various nationalities in the past by following its long-standing traditions. The message of these public meetings is to gather together the people of the country in order to highlight the idea of a strong and stable Pakistan.

You are aware that the MQM had organized a public meeting in Jinnah Ground Aziza bad last year in which people belonging to all the nationalities living in Karachi had participated. The theme of the public meeting was National Solidarity and it was very successful. Oppressed people belonging to various nationalities had shown their love and esteem for Mr Altaf Hussain by participating in the public meeting in large numbers.

People are well aware of the circumstances facing the country and it is because of this reason that certain forces have become active in order to achieve their nefarious objectives. They have started sowing seeds of hatred in order to hinder the truthful message of the MQM from spreading. The MQM, nevertheless, is facing these elements like an iron wall. The impression that the MQM seeks to represent Urdu-speaking people only is false and misleading as Punjabi, Sindhi, Baloch, Pashtun, Hazarewal, Gilgiti, Kashmiri and people belonging to various other ethnic origins are present in the MQM.

The present time calls for unity and solidarity instead hatred and division. In order to stem the rising tide of racial and linguistic prejudices it is necessary to unite people at every level. The MQM is going to organize a public meeting in Jinnah Ground in Azizabad, Karachi on 24th June 2012 at 5:00 pm. The uniqueness of the public meeting is that the Pashtun living in Karachi would participate in it. The purpose of holding this public meeting is to frustrate the elements that are sowing the seeds of hatred, creating hostilities among brothers, pushing the city of lights in utter darkness and spilling the blood of innocent people.

We believe that the MQM is the only political party in the country and Mr Altaf Hussain is the only leader that can bring a revolution in the country. Poor and middle class people affiliated with his ideology and philosophy would be the harbinger of the real change in the country.

We appeal to the honourable, courageous and conscientious Pashtuns living in Karachi to come to the MQM’s public meeting on 24th June 2012 in Azizabad in large numbers and make it a historic success.
