Karachi has responded to its biased and baseless report with this protest demonstration.
MQM’s Deputy Convener Dr. Khalid Maqbool has said Amnesty International must answer the questions raised by MQM. He added that people of Karachi has responded to its biased and baseless report with this protest demonstration.
“Conspiracies against MQM are being hatched on the International level. World powers want to create a new colonial system. We are resisting their plans and agenda. Amnesty International is a part of conspirators who are working against us, “ Dr. Khalid Maqbool expressed these views at the protest demonstration, which was held against Amnesty’s biased report at the Karachi Press Club.
Families’ members of martyred and abducted workers attended the protest demonstration. Demonstrators were carrying banners and placards with slogans against Amnesty International’s report.
“BBC had also published a biased and baseless report against MQM in the past. We had protested against that report. Now we have protested against Amnesty’s report to register our complaint. Can Amnesty give us answer who attacked and killed MQM workers on October 31, 1986? Who burnt the houses in Qasba and Aligarh? Children were killed in front of their mothers. Who killed more 300 hundred Urdu Speaking people in an hour on September 30, 1988, “ Dr. Khalid Maqbool said.
“Amnesty did not report the tragic incident in Hyderabad in which innocent mothers and sisters were killed ruthlessly. Thousands of our workers were murdered in the operation which was launched on June 19, 1992. Amnesty did not mentioned the killings in its report. We have presented to people the repression experienced by us,” Dr. Khalid Maqbool said.
“All the conspiracies against Altaf Hussain has failed. This one will also suffer the ignominy of defeat. Altaf Hussain always come out victorious by the grace of Allah. Workers who display restraint in their temperament by the order of Mr. Hussain can do anything for him. Conspirators who tried to eliminate Mr. Hussain met the dust. No one can stop his mission of Mr. Hussain, “ Dr. Khalid Maqbool said.
Commenting on the Amnesty International’s report Haider Abbas Rizvi said, “ MQM rejects the report and terms it a pack of lies.”
“Amnesty International did not properly investigate into the accusations against MQM because facts are suppressed in Pakistan. Facts should be presented to  correct the record, “ Haider Abbas Rizvi said.
“A year and half ago Brig. Imtiaz revealed in a TV Program conducted by Dr. Danish that MQM was not involved in the Jinnahpur Conspiracy. MQM was accused of the Jinnahpur plan by a group of conspirators. MQM was targeted under the pretext of Major Kaleem case. It was said that MQM was against the army. Altaf Hussain was acquitted in the case and Major Kaleem was fined for perjury. MQM was also accused of Hakeem Saeed. MQM was acquitted by the Supreme Court in the case too, “ Haider Abbas Rizvi said.
“Hundreds of MQM workers are missing since 1994. Former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujjat accepted they were killed in the mountain of Margalla, Islamabad. The champions of human rights did not mention the tragic incident in their reports. Today families of MQM workers who have been unlawfully killed and abducted are protesting here because the report has hurt their feelings, “ Haider Abbas Rizvi said.
