Altaf Hussain’s open letter to the journalists of Punjab
On double standards of the Constitution and Law, Protest and justice

London: 31 May 2021
Founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr. Altaf Hussain have said that the journalists belonging from Punjab now can better realise the pain and agony of oppressed nations of Pakistan. While stating in an open letter addressed to the journalist of Punjab who are protesting against the state atrocities, Mr. Hussain said that the colour of blood in all humans is same. Feeling of pain and agony that results from slapping, boxing, kicking, beating with rods or any other torture devices is the same.
He further said that sadly, journalists from Punjab had not been impartial and reported against those Balouch, Sindhi, Pashtun and Mohajir who fell prey to oppression and barbarism, supported the aggressors and the oppressors.

Addressing to the journalist from Punjab Mr Hussain said that you welcomed and legitimised their enforced disappearances, inhumane torture and extrajudicial killings and false cases they have been implicated in and it meant to suppress their voices. At the contrary, you attain the attention and get declared rightful on protesting on atrocities against Punjabis.

That is, according to the poet;
When you are subjected to torture
You also cry in pain
You also shed your tears in pain
Now you may have learned
What does pain and agony mean?
What does extrajudicial killing, torture mean?

Mr. Hussain said that now journalist from Punjab can better realise the pain and agony of those oppressed who took to streets and opted to go on strikes against atrocities. But the majority of them justified the atrocities of the Army, ISI, Rangers and Frontier Constabulary. The only difference is that the violence against Panjabi journalists is rather considered a trifle but the atrocities against the oppressed are declared justified by the majority of them as acts of terrorism and they used to declare them as enemies of the country, RAW agents and traitors.
Please don't despise this truth because truth is always bitter! Mr. Hussain stated.
