Karachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Tuesday announced schedule of intra party referendum on June 20 for taking opinion from workers to join PPP government in Sindh.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain had directed his party’s coordination committee to hold a nationwide referendum in three days to decide if the party should join the Sindh government or instead sit on the opposition benches in the provincial assembly.
According to statement issued by MQM, Rabita Committee would arrange referendum tomorrow (Thursday) across the country.
Ballet boxes would be placed in sectors, zonal offices and party offices in Karachi, Hyderabad, other cities and town of Sindh and others provinces, the statement added.
Polling would start from 9:00 am and end at 5:00pm in the evening across the country. MQM chief would be informed the result, after that Altaf Hussain would announce it by telephonic address from London.
MQM’s call for referendum comes after a Pakistan People’s Party delegation, led by Rehman Malik, visited the MQM headquarters Nine-Zero and formally invited the MQM to join the Sindh government
