There is a nefarious conspiracy to create economic instability inKarachiby creating law and order situation

Members of Provincial Assembly of Sindh belonging to Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) have decried the rising wave of crimes inKarachiand said that the criminals of the outlawed Peoples Amn Committee involved in killings, extortion, and kidnappings for ransom should be given exemplary punishment.

The MPAs said that there was a sinister conspiracy to create a law and order situation inKarachifor which criminals and terrorists of the outlawed Amn Committee were given freehand. They were killing the MQM workers one after another, and the brazen manner in which they were demanding extortion money and abducting business persons for ransom indicated that the police and law-enforcing agencies were utterly helpless.

The MPAs said that protecting the life and property of citizens should have been the duty of first importance for the police and other law-enforcing agencies, but it was highly regrettable that nothing worthwhile was being done in this regard.

The MPAs said that certain unseen powers wanted to destabilize economic activities inKarachiby creating lawlessness inKarachifor their nefarious designs. It were these invisible powers that were responsible for the present state of affairs inKarachi.

The MPAs demanded of President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Advisor Interior Rehman Malik, Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to protect the general public from the terrorists of the banned Amn Committee.
