The revolutionary struggle for saving Pakistan has started: Altaf Hussain

The revolutionary struggle for saving Pakistan has started: Altaf Hussain
 Posted on: 12/31/2012
Armed forces and other institutions responsible for national security should support the wave of change
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the revolutionary struggle for saving Pakistan and changing the out-dated obsolete system has started hence the armed forces and other institutions responsible for national security should support the wave of change sweeping across Pakistan. He said that if the state of affairs did not change, the country would suffer irreparable loss and those institutions would be directly responsible if the national security suffers any harm.
He said this while addressing large gatherings of the MQM workers who had gathered at Nine Zero and Hyderabad Zone Office on Monday night.
He said, “I have been struggling for a middle class order in Pakistan for the past 35 years. We transformed Mohajir Quami Movement into Muttahida Quami Movement for changing the outmoded system in the country but we were not accepted as the sons of soil. We are spurned as outsiders but we bore everything patiently for the country.”
“We intended to widen our struggle but we were obstructed by fierce oppression and brutalities. Thousands of our workers were martyred including my own brother and nephew. All my family members were uprooted and thousands of workers were displaced. They suffered hardships but despite all the injustices we did not raise the slogan for separation. We continued our struggle to change the system of the country.”
“It is because of the sacrifices of our martyrs that Allah has caused a voice for changing the decadent system from the Punjab. Now on the one side there is Dr Tahirul Qadri and on the other side there is Altaf Hussain.”
“When the Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal united, Pakistan came into being and today two strong voices from the city of the Quaid-i-Azam and the city of Allama Iqbal have been raised simultaneously. Altaf Hussain and Dr Qadri have come to the forefront for making Pakistan a state according to the dreams of the Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal.”
“I have joined hands with Dr Qadri as a brother and now the MQM workers and sympathizers would participate in the long march being organized by Dr Qadri in Islamabad on 14th January.”
“Unfortunately Pakistan has been in the grip of feudal lords, chieftains and moneyed people belonging to a few families. They have been ruling the country ever since the independence of the country. We want to free the country from the clutches of this ruling coterie.”
“We want the system to change instead of mere changing of governments. The fate of the poor and oppressed people should change and everyone should get equal rights. Hereditary politics and corruption should end and a just and equitable system should be established.”
“Revolutionary electoral reforms should be introduced so that people belonging to the poor and middle classes could also take part in the elections. They should not need millions of rupees for buying tickets from political parties.”
“Our wrong policies and failings have resulted in the dismemberment of the country. The critical situation in Balochistan is before us. There is a warlike situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Two days ago 21 personnel of the Levies were killed in a cold-blooded manner in Peshawar after they were abducted a few days ago.”
“Keeping in view these circumstances if the armed forces and other institutions responsible for national security think that they can run Pakistan in the same manner, the country would suffer harm and those institutions would be directly responsible for the loss. Hence they should support the public sentiment for bringing a change in the country.”
Mr Hussain asked the MQM office-bearers and workers to prepare for the revolutionary long march of 14th January. He asked them to set up camps for collecting donations from the public on voluntary basis.
He appealed to the public to donate generously to the MQM so that arrangements could be made for the long march. He particularly appealed to the well-off people living in Defence, Clifton, Bahadurabad and other areas to contribute generously for changing the system in the country. He asked them to spare one person from each family for this cause and if this was not possible at least one month’s salary of one person in the fund established for the march.
