MQM wants resolution of political crisis through dialogue
The founder and leader of MQM Mr. Altaf Hussain has said that MQM is a democratic party and its does not want Martial Law in the country and wants resolution of political crisis through dialogue. He added that if the crisis was not resolved through dialogue and the path of confrontation was adopted then the army would intervene to save the country.
Mr. Hussain expressed these views while addressing MQM USA’s 18th Annual Convention. MQM’s office bearers, workers and Pakistanis from 23 cities participated in the convention.
Mr. Hussain expressed in detail in his speech about MQM’s struggle, manifesto and Pakistan’s political situation.
Commenting on the political crisis in the country Mr. Hussain said, “The situation prevailing the country demands that the crisis should be resolved through dialogue. The government should show some degree of flexibility and try to solve the crisis through dialogue. Protestors should also show some flexibility and try to fix the problems in the country’s system through constitutional reforms. We have to sit together for a dialogue after a fight. Why should not we solve the crisis without fighting through dialogue? ”
Mr. Hussain said that a clash would have occurred in Lahore before the start of the march if MQM had not intervened for reconciliation between the party and the government. He added that the siege ended because of MQM’s efforts. He said that the clash between the parties could have resulted in the loss of great number of lives.
Commenting on the Talibanization in Pakistan in his speech Mr. Hussain said, “Pakistan’s rulers and establishment termed the war between America and Russia ‘a war of Islam and infidels’ to please Americans after Soviet intervention in Afghanistan. Pakistan become a center of Mujahidins coming from different parts of the world. After the defeat of Soviet Union Mujaheedins started terrorist activities in Pakistan. Taliban Terrorists targeted mosques, imambargahs, shrines, centers of armed forces and other defence installations. They blew up 70% girls schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA.”
Mr. Hussain said when he warned about the growing danger of Taliban my rivals held him up to ridicule and said he was trying to frighten people. He added that later events proved his apprehensions right.
“Today by the Grace of Allah the army and the people are on the same page regarding terrorism. Officers and jawans of our armed forces are rendering supreme sacrifices in fight against terrorists, “Mr. Hussain said.
Mr. Hussain said that MQM was the only party in Pakistan which emerged from the poor and middle class people.  “It is not a party any family. It is a party of the people. In other parties we see dynastic dominance. MQM is not struggling for the rule of a family. It is struggling for the rule of honest and capable people. MQM believes in democracy and wants to end dynastic rule in the country. Altaf Hussain never fought election. You will not see members of assemblies from Altaf Hussain’s family. MQM sends workers of the movement to the assemblies, “ Mr. Hussain said.
“MQM wants to bring a system in Pakistan where rich and poor and all people can enjoy equal rights without discrimination regardless of their caste, creed and religion. It wants to end dual system of education from the country. It wants to bring an education system where poor students can get education with respect, “ Mr. Hussain said.
Mr. Hussain said MQM did not hate anyone. He added that it helped people in 2005 in Kashmir earthquake, victims of flood in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, victims of drought in Baluchistan. He said that MQM had actively taken part in relief activities in natural disasters and helped the victims without discrimination and it proved that MQM did not hate anyone but believed in the humanity.
