MQM submits KW&SB’s amendment bill

The Muttahida Quami Movement has started its legal pursuit for restoring the power of elected-mayor of the city and submitted a bill to amend the Act of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board by MPA Syed Khalid Ahmed, Syed Anwar Raza and Jamal Ahmed.

The Bill elaborates that the mayor will be the chairman of KW&SB and the deputy chairman will be nominated by the Speaker of Sindh Assembly and could be any member of Sindh Assembly. The Bill also eliminates the sole authority of Sindh government to nominate chairman and vice-chairman of KW&SB.
