A high-powered commission should hold inquiry into the sit-in organized by Imran Khan: Altaf Hussain

A high-powered commission should hold inquiry into the sit-in organized by Imran Khan: Altaf Hussain
 Posted on: 7/23/2015
MQM Founder and Leader Altaf Hussain has said that a judicial commission consisting of judges of Supreme Court should be constituted after the report of the commission investigating rigging in the general election. The Commission should probe the elements behind the sit-in of Imran Khan that was organized to wrap up the democratic process in the country. The commission should also investigate as to who organized the sit-in and how the funding was arranged.
He said this while talking to the office-bearers and workers of the MQM at Nine Zero on the telephone.
“For almost two years that entire country was pushed into a frenzy about organized rigging in the general election. Now the report of the judicial commission comprising judges of the Supreme Court has been published which says that the rigging has not taken place.”
“The revelations about the sit-in should be sufficient to open the eyes of the people. Those political leaders, senior anchors, and analysts who went out of the way to support Imran Khan. Those who made him a hero are themselves informing the people on media as to how influential government functionaries contacted political leaders and industrialists for supporting Imran Khan. They have also made startling disclosures about billions of rupees made available for the sit-in by selling plots and money obtained through kidnapping for ransom.”
“The parliament was attacked during the sit-in which continued for 126 days. Government TV and police stations were attacked. Reporters of Geo TV, police officers and personnel were manhandled.”
“The national economy suffered. The visit of the Chinese president was also postponed. Who will answer for all these things?”
Mr Hussain said time had come to hold an inquiry about the sit-in by forming a high-powered commission consisting of judges of Supreme Court. “All those involved in the conspiracy to destabilize the country should be exposed. Imran Khan and his lackeys should be arrested and given punishment in public.”
