Military establishment still not apolitical: Altaf Hussain

Muttahida Quami Movement's (MQM) undisputed founder and leader Mr. Altaf Hussain saidthis in context to extreme level violations of his fundamental rights and culling of his freedom of expression by the military establishment in Pakistan."Lahore High Court had sanctioned 6 months embargo on me at the behest of the establishment but the embargo has crossed 8 years unlawfully", he deplored.He asked the incumbent Pakistani military chief, General Asim Muneer to tell the nation and the world whether the claims of the military establishment for being apolitical is actively existing in the country or not.If, the Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Muneer and other Generals claim they are apolitically and neutral, they have to tell why my house, Nine Zero, has so far been under sealed since past 7 years? He questioned.On the discrimination against him, he reminded the Pakistani military chief that today, in political meetings and public processions of the other political parties such as PML-N, PPP and PTI, etc, anti-military slogans were vociferously chanted even till date and the heads of aforementioned political parties continue to slam the military establishment, generals and ISI,and even their mothers and sisters were verbally molested and publicly insulted abusively anda good number of anti-military V-logs presented.In continuation to his effort of seeking due to explanation from the incumbent Pakistani military chief, the undisputed founder and leader of MQM asked him to tell whether the armysealed the houses of any of them?He deplored that the unending military operation that was launched against MQM in 1992 is still in full swing. Subsequently, more than 25, 000 MQM activists so far extra-judicially killed during this state operation. Conversely, a lot of MQM activists were forcibly disappeared and still their where about are not known. In addition, a very large number of activists have unlawfully been sent up the river.
Despite this, he continued to say, neither my millions of fans nor I reacted beyond the legal boundaries and never took to streets against the army because he only criticises the handful ofcorrupt top brass. Even a sheer offensive slogan was not chanted.Instead, MQM had in recent past produced a mammoth pro-military rally on July 6, 2014 in Karachi for the support of army’s war on terror, which the independent observers claimed to be historic, he reminded, adding that the participants of that mammoth rally and I had stood up for saluting the military.In the 75-year history of Pakistan, no party has produced such a gigantic procession in support of the army. Nevertheless, why have I been unlawfully subjected to an unlawful embargo? He asked a very valid question.Why were my texts, speeches and pictures forcefully and unlawfully banned and my house sealed? He asked.He also reminded the incumbent Pakistani military chief that millions of fans of MQM that was created 45-year ago and their undisputed founder and leader Altaf Hussain are waiting tohear from him.
