MQM shares the grief of the deaths factory workers in Lahore: Altaf Hussain
 Posted on: 9/12/2012
It is unfortunate that people claiming sympathy for the public are nowhere to be seen
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the grief of the people of Lahore and the rest of the Punjab caused due to the deaths of several persons in the factory fire was equally felt by him and the MQM. He said this while talking to the office-bearers and workers at the MQM zonal office in Lahore.
Mr Hussain prayed for the workers who had died in the factory blaze and extended sympathies to the grieving families. He said that the MQM believed in serving the people instead of playing politics.
“We do not preach in words only. We act on what we say whether we are in the government or not. To us serving the humanity is an act of worship.”
He asked the local office-bearers and workers of the MQM to raise black flags at the party offices during the three days of mourning announced by the MQM on the deaths of people in incidents of fires in Lahore and Karachi. He asked them to offer fateha and recitation of the Holy Quran for the deceased factory workers.
He termed the Karachi incident a great tragedy and said it was highly unfortunate that the people claiming sympathy with the people were nowhere to be seen. He praised the MQM workers for vising the place of accident and consoling the bereaved families.
