Sindh Assembly passes motion to endorse Altaf Hussain right to attain NICOP

MQM Coordination Committee applauded the Sindh Assembly’s motion to support Mr Altaf Hussain’s right to attain NICOP card and appreciated for raising the issue at the formal forum.
 
The Committee also thanked Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and his Cabinet for endorsing Haqparast point of view and conveying its concerns regarding the issue to the federal government to deal on it merit. It appreciated the Sindh Assembly’s motion to respect Altaf Hussain’s fundamental right to possess his national identity.
 
In a statement, the Central Coordination Committee said political leaders, scholars, journalists, parliamentarians and all the democratic likeminded people support the issue and raise their voices. It said the entire nation stands unanimous on the issue and endorse Altaf Hussain’s right to attain his NICOP and later passport.
 
The Committee said people are astounded by federal government’s response on the issue and strongly condemned the delay to deliver Hussain’s NICOP. People from all walks of life criticized governments’ tactic to delay the NICOP issuance
