Rehman Malik calls on Altaf Hussain in London

MQM and PPP will work with more energy for national security and solving basic public problems
Senior Federal Adviser on Interior Affairs Mr Rehman Malik called on the MQM founder and leader Mr Altaf Hussain and conveyed to him an important message from President Asif Zardari. Threats facing the country, internal and external challenges and the overall situation of the country came under discussion during the meeting.

It was reiterated in the meeting that the MQM and the PPP would work more energy for the national security, peace, stability, promotion of democracy and for solving the basic problems of the people.

Mr Malik praised Mr Hussain for the promotion of democracy in the country that the elected democratic government was going to complete its five years in which the MQM and Mr Hussain had played a critical role. 

Mr Malik also lauded the MQM for interacting with other political and religious parties and holding dialogues for brotherhood, peace, stability and mutual understanding. He termed it auspicious for the country and congratulated Mr Hussain on behalf of President Zardari.

Mr Hussain told Mr Malik that the government would have to take more effective steps for controlling terrorism in Karachi besides ensuring internal stability. He also called for steps to check profiteering and load-shedding during the holy month of Ramadan.

Mr Malik assured Mr Hussain that the government was making every effort to control profiteering and hoped that the electricity crisis would be relieved within few weeks.

Mr Hussain congratulated Mr Malik on getting elected as the senator again and expressed hope that he would utilize his abilities for curbing terrorism and bringing peace.
