*MQM founder Altaf Hussain’s health improving amid hospitalisation in London*
LONDON. [UK]. July 20: The founder and leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Mr Altaf Hussain, has been under medical care at a London hospital for the past eleven days due to serious health concerns.
According to a series of official updates from MQM’s Central Coordination Committee, Mr Hussain’s condition is steadily improving under the supervision of senior physicians and specialists.
Initially admitted due to complications arising from longstanding emotional stress, ongoing litigation, and financial strain, Mr Hussain underwent a series of extensive diagnostic procedures, including blood tests, ECG, CT scans, X-rays, and ultrasounds.
London-based senior cardiologist Dr David Lipkin and gastroenterologist Dr Clive Onnye have led the medical teams overseeing his treatment.
As part of the treatment protocol, Mr Hussain has received multiple blood transfusions due to persistently low blood counts. Physiotherapy sessions have also been introduced to aid his mobility and recovery.
Encouragingly, on several occasions, Mr Hussain was able to walk within the hospital ward, once even without physiotherapy assistance.
Over the past eleven days, tests and evaluations have been carried out with diligence, including contrast-enhanced CT scans and X-rays.
Doctors have consistently expressed satisfaction over Mr Hussain’s response to treatment, with noticeable improvements reported on a daily basis.
While MQM workers and supporters across the globe remain deeply concerned, MQM leadership has urged everyone to reject baseless rumours circulating about Mr Hussain’s health and to maintain unity.
Continuous appeals have been made to MQM’s global community for prayers and charitable acts in support of their ailing leader.
In a message from Mr Mustafa Azizabadi ,the Convener of MQM Central Coordination Committee, he emphasised the difficult time the movement is currently facing and requested people from all backgrounds to pray for Mr Hussain’s swift and full recovery.
Current Status: As of July 20, 2025, Mr Altaf Hussain remains hospitalised in London. However, his health is recovering fast. Doctors have noted visible and encouraging signs of improvement.
Hussain continues to undergo close medical monitoring and support, and further updates will be shared as his treatment progresses.
