 A protest was held in front of the Pakistani Consulate in Toronto under the auspices of MQM Canada against the burning of MQM head office  Nine Zero, the extrajudicial killing of missing workers Irfan Basarat, Abid Abbasi and Wasim Akhtar alias Raju and the enforced disappearance of former member of parliament Nisar Panhwar. In the demonstration, apart from the officials and workers of the Toronto chapter, Shahid Raza, member of the coordination committee of MQM, Dr. Nadeem Ehsan, advisor of the coordination committee, Asif Qazi, member of the central executive committee, Iqbal Bahadur, joint central organizer of MQM Canada, Quaid Tehreek. Mr. Altaf Hussain's brother Israr Hussain and members of the Central Organizing Committee also participated.

The protestors were carrying pictures of MQM's founder & leader Mr. Altaf Hussain and party flags, along with various placards on which the residence of MQM leader Mr. Altaf Hussain and MQM's center Nine Zero were to be set on fire. There were various protest words in English against the illegal arrest of former member of parliament Nisar Ahmed Panhwar, extrajudicial killing of activists and state atrocities against Mohajirs. The protestors kept raising slogans from time to time, we want justice, stop killings Mohajirs and against the state atrocities on workers and Mohajirs in Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, member of the coordination committee Shahid Raza said that MQM headquarters Nine Zero which was in the possession of Rangers for the last six years and the Rangers were under round the clock surveillance, Nine Zero was set on fire as per regular planning and before setting fire. Destroyed by heavy machinery. Shahid Raza also strongly condemned the extrajudicial killings of missing MQM workers Irfan Basarat, Abid Abbasi and Waseem Raju and termed it as part of the genocide of the Muhajirs.

Shahid Raza strongly condemned the illegal arrest and enforced disappearance of former MQM Member of Parliament Nisar Panhwar and said that the arrest and disappearance is a serious violation of human rights. He appealed to the human rights organizations that the Nine Zero arson and the extrajudicial killings of the activists should be taken into custody and Nisar Ahmed Panhwar should be recovered.

Advisor of Central Coordination Committee Dr. Nadeem Ehsan said that the state atrocities are increasing day by day in Pakistan and human rights violations are increasing, the courts are failing to provide justice. Central Executive Committee member Asif Qazi and MQM Canada Joint Central Organizer Iqbal Bahadur also expressed their views and strongly condemned the state atrocities in Pakistan.
On this occasion, the delegation of MQM officials also presented a petition to the concerned authorities of the Pakistani Consulate, regarding the burning of Nine Zero, the extrajudicial killings of missing activists  and the enforced disappearance of Nisar Panhwar. Expressing concern, it was appealed to stop these atrocities
