Altaf Hussain warns govt. not to meddle ME conflict
Posted on: 1/3/2016 1
The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr. Altaf Hussain suggested the government not become party in current tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
In a statement issued from London Secretariat, MQM Chief said that Pakistan should be impartial and avoid supporting any of the conflicting party. He said, “The country is already facing numerous challenges and people are being deprived of their fundamental rights, so the government should focus on internal rather external.”
Talking to a joint session of MQM London and Karachi Secretariat, Mr. Altaf intimated that if the government would be asked to take part in the issue, it should first consult to the Parliament as supreme authority. He said that the situation of Middle-East inclined to worse day by day which might cause the peace of the region.
He said, “The political situation of Pakistan is definitely depending on the regional political and social milieus and if there would be any conflict between neighbouring or brethren countries would directly affect Pakistan’s situations. He said that the death sentences served to the prominent Shia leader Shiekh Nimar and 34 others had raised a new hostility in the Muslims’ sacred world.
MQM Chief said that he had already intimated the Ummah regarding the prevailing situations of the Middle-East much earlier of this. He said that he once again warned the situation might be faced if a step would wrongly be taken. He said that the Army and civil authorities should think twice before joining the union of 34 nations.
He said that the people had been paying the prices of some narrowed decisions in the past and the nation could not bear any more adventure in the prevailing situation. He said that people had to promote interfaith harmony and sectarian tolerance among.
Mr. Hussain said that the entire nation should come up to fight against the rising threat of ISIS and other extremist outfits. He said that for doing so everyone should respect others religious and social rights.
