Altaf Hussain demands to build Kala-Bagh Dam, should remove Sindh’s concerns

The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr. Altaf Hussain demanded the federal government to remove Sindh’s concerns over the construction of Kala-Bagh Dam and to minimize the shortage of water.
In a statement issued from London Secretariat, MQM Chief said that the government should call a meeting of all four provinces to resolve the concerns of the people and should complete the project regarding their recommendations. If the concerns of the people could not be addressed then the government should construct small dams throughout the country to preserve rain water.
Mr. Hussain said the federal and provincial governments were unable to provide basic essentials, including water, gas and electricity to the people. He said that more than one thousand people were killed due to heatstroke in Karachi and unfortunately both the governments just playing blame-game.
He said that the Federal Minister for Water and Power commented on the unfortunate deaths of the innocent people that the unrecovered areas were in the pool of loadshedding. He raised a question that people who had been paying their utility bills regularly, why they were punished?
MQM Chief said that the Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF) set up various heatstroke centers to facilitate the victims of sun-heat also providing mineral water and ORS solution for immediate remedy. He said that the government should provide basic essentials to the people to save their lives rather building roads and bridges.
He said that the time needed to build small dams and reservoirs throughout the country to preserve rain water for avoiding such untoward situation in future. He demanded the government (federal and provincial) to minimize their expenses and utilize the fund to facilitate the people.
