MQM Co-ordination Committee condemns murderous attack on Allama Syed Baqir Hussain Zaidi

The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has strongly condemned the incident of firing on the car of Jafria Alliance leader Allama Syed Baqir Hussain Zaidi in which he was injured, and his guard was killed. It termed the incident a conspiracy to spark sectarian violence in the city.
In a statement, the Co-ordination Committee said that terrorists were targeting political workers, important personalities and common citizens for destroying peace and order in the city in order to achieve their vicious objectives. At a time when elections were near, incidents of terrorism against liberal political parties, including the ANP and MQM were a cause of great concern for the people.
The Co-ordination Committee said it was becoming obvious that enemies of peace were working on their agenda to get election results according to their wishes by creating a law and order situation in the city.
The Co-ordination Committee said that the murderous attack on Allama Syed Baqir Hussain Zaidi was a part of the same conspiracy. It sympathized with Allama Zaidi and prayed for his speedy recovery and well-being. It also condoled with the grieving family members of the guard of Allama Zaidi.
The Co-ordination Committee demanded President Asif Zardari, caretaker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso, Interior Minister Malik Habib, Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad, and caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh Zahid Qurban Alvi to take serious notice of the attack on Allama Zaidi resulting in the death of his guard.
The Co-ordination Committee called for steps to unmask the elements wanting to fuel sectarian tensions in the city.
