Apparently criminals and terrorists are operating with impunity having no fear of the law
The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has deplored the continuing bloodshed and rising wave of crime in Karachi. It condemned the killings of innocent people, kidnappings for ransom and demand for extortion money and said that the criminals were operating with impunity having no fear of the law. It said that although Karachi is the epicentre of the country, but nothing is being done to crush criminals and terrorists creating a sense of insecurity among the citizens.
The Co-ordination Committee said that the organized crimes taking place in Karachi is a cause of great concern for the law-abiding citizens of Karachi. It said that the increasing presence of hardened criminals and terrorists in Karachi has created a big question mark. It extended sympathies to the family members of the people killed in various incidents of firing.
The Co-ordination Committee demanded of President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take serious notice of the brutal killings of members of the business community on their refusal to pay extortion. It urged on them to take stern action for eliminating crime and curbing terrorism.
The Co-ordination Committee said that every effort should be made to protect the life and property of the people.
