MQM MPAs show concerns over unchanged transport-fare

MQM members of Sindh Assembly expressed their concerns over the announcement to refuse reduction in public transport fares by Karachi Transport Ittehad, despite the substantial reduction in POL prices.
In a joint statement, the MPAs said that the obstinacy of transporters reflected Sindh government’s helplessness and incompetence, and termed it sheer injustice with Karachiites. They said that the POL prices had been reduced up to 12 percent but the fruit of such decrease could not be transferred to the common people, because of incompetence of the Sindh government.
They said transporters always increased public transport fares whenever POL prices were increased but they did not want to reduce fare now, even after 12 percent of decrease. They demanded the federal government to transfer due relief of reduction of POL prices to the people, especially Karachiites and ensured transporters to announce decrease of public transport fare.
