Altaf Hussain is playing a positive role in forging unity among Muslims: Maulana Tahir Ashrafi
A delegation of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) called upon Chairman of Pakistan Ulema Council in a local hotel in Karachi. Current situation in the country, challenges facing Pakistan and the continuing sectarian killings in Karachi were discussed in detail in the meeting. The MQM delegation included members of the Co-ordination Committee Mr Wasim Aftab, Mr Saif Yar Khan, provincial minister Khalid Umer, MPA Abdul Rauf Siddiqui and office-bearers of the Ulema Committee of the MQM.
Members of the Co-ordination Committee said that the sectarian killings in Karachi and other parts of the country are aimed at creating instability in Pakistan. Brutal murders of people belonging to different schools of thought in Karachi is a conspiracy to kindle sectarian violence in the city.
Maulana Tahir Ashrafi praised the efforts being made by Mr Altaf Hussain for maintaining sectarian harmony and brotherhood in Karachi and the rest of the country. He said that Mr Hussain is playing a positive role in forging unity among Muslims.
