Unabated activities of criminals in the city has placed a big question mark on the performance of law-enforcing agencies: MQM
 Posted on: 12/12/2012
The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has strongly condemned the grenade attacks on transporters and business persons for refusing to pay extortion money and expressed deep concerns on the increasing activities of extortion mafia in the heavy presence of law-enforcing agencies. It said that the brazen manner in which the criminals are operating in the city gives the impression that they have been given the license to pursue their nefarious activities. The unabated activities of the criminals have created serious apprehensions in the minds of the citizens.
The Co-ordination Committee said that no one is safe in Karachi which has placed a big question mark on performance of law-enforcing agencies. There are certain areas in Karachi where business persons have been forced to close their businesses and people have relocated in other areas for safety and security.
The Co-ordination Committee expressed sorrow on the death several persons, including a police personnel and a Bengali doctor and the grenade attacks on business persons for refusing to pay extortion money.
The Co-ordination Committee demanded President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take serious notice of the killing of people for refusing to pay extortion. It urged upon them to take notice of the grenade attack on business centres and bring the elements behind these incidents to justice.
