People belonging to the poor and middle classes should mount a concerted effort against the monolith of feudalism
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the problems of the poor and oppressed people throughout the country are similar in nature. Their problems have nothing to do with their nationality, language, race, colour, religion or sect. He said that the oppressed people should get united and make a concerted effort against the monolith of feudalism and serfdom. He expressed these views while talking to the members of the various committees at Nine Zero.
Mr Hussain said that the colour of the blood and physical structure of every individual is similar. Everyone feels the same pain when they are inflicted with injuries. “We want to promote dignity of mankind in order to create the atmosphere of brotherhood and harmony. Linguistic frictions and other prejudices must end.”
“Our languages, nationalities, histories, geographies and cultures may be different but despite these underlying differences are problems are the same. We must get united for changing our circumstances and resolving our problems.”
“Feudal lords, chieftains and landed people create animosities between people on the basis of language and nationalities while they intermarry among themselves in order to strengthen their bonds.”
“The fate of poor peasants, farmers and workers has not changed despite the passage of 65 long years, and they are still forced to live a life of servitude and bondage. People belonging to the poor and middle classes will have to let go of every type of prejudice and mount a united effort to change their lot.”
“The MQM is the only political party that has its origin in the middle class people. It wanted to spread its presence across the length and breadth of the country after bringing a revolution of the poor class leadership in the urban areas of Sindh. A repressive state operation was done against it in order to impede its progress. Poisonous propaganda was done but the truth could not be stopped from spreading.”
“MQM has spread throughout the country in spite of all conspiracies and people cutting across regional, cultural and religious backgrounds are being attracted towards the MQM in a large number.”
“We must remain united and believe that the divine help descends upon those who remain steadfast.”
“The workers of the MQM should reach out to the public and not get bogged down by the conspiracies like changing the boundaries of electoral constituencies in Karachi.”
Members of the committees present on the occasion assured Mr Hussain that they would continue their struggle with undaunted determination.
