MQM could start a mass demonstration for the release of its workers.
MQM’s Dr. Farooq Sattar has said that that supremacy of the constitution and law should be established. He demanded and warned that violations of articles of constitution should be stopped.
He warned that MQM could start a mass demonstration for the release of its workers. He added that it was just a trailer and we show the whole film.
He said that MQM had staged this protest demonstration that day for the implementation of articles 4, 9, 10, 14 of the constitution. He demanded that the federal and provincial governments should takes concrete steps for stopping raids, detentions and extrajudicial killings of MQM workers.
Dr. Sattar expressed these views in his address at the Karachi Press Club in a protest rally organized for the recovery of MQM workers who have become victims of enforced disappearances.
He warned that of our workers were not recovered in a few days then we would launch a mass protest demonstrations.
“The Article 4, which gives individual rights, to citizens of Pakistan is being violated in Karachi. Every Pakistani has a right to enjoy basic rights as enshrined in the article. The extrajudicial killings of 25 MQM workers tell us that how this article is being violated. The article 9 of our constitution says arrested persons should be presented in courts in 24 hours. This article too is being violated. There is a difference between black law and effective law, “ Dr. Farooq said.
“We should make laws to fight the menace of terrorism. MQM should not be victimized under the pretext of fighting against terrorism. MQM cannot be subjugated this way. MQM rejects the law which does not respect basic human rights. The government will have to disband death squads. No has resisted the death angels during raids. Our workers have not fired a single shot against them, “ Dr. Farooq said.
“The civilian government, judiciary and the forces of Pakistan fear to raid Taliban dominated areas because they are greeted with bombs and bullets when they raid their areas, I demand that the federal government and Sindh government recover our 45 disappeared workers. They should be allowed to meet their relatives and lawyers. People who are involved in extrajudicial killings should be arrested and prosecuted, “ Dr. Farooq Sattar demanded.
