If any MQM worker or leader is involved in sectarian killings he should be hanged publicly: Altaf Hussain

Certain prejudiced officers belonging to Rangers and law-enforcing agencies were carrying out propaganda that some MQM people were involved in sectarian killings
If the allegation could not be proved then these prejudiced officers should also be hanged

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has said that if any MQM worker or leader was involved in sectarian killings, he should be hanged in public but if the allegation could not be proved than those levelling such baseless allegations should be hanged instead.
Addressing the heads of Pakistan Army, Navy, Air Force, ISI, and all other authorities of the civil and military establishment, Mr Hussain said that the entire struggle of the MQM centred on promoting Shia-Sunni brotherhood and Muslim-unity. He said it was highly unfortunate that certain prejudiced officers of Rangers and other law-enforcing agencies were propagating that some workers of the MQM were involved in sectarian killings.
He said, “If any of the MQM worker or leader was involved in these crimes and there were incontrovertible evidence with the ISI, MI, IB or any other government agency to corroborate this allegation, then the accused MQM worker or leader should be hanged in public. If, on the other hand, the allegation could not be proved, then those levelling such baseless allegations should be hanged instead.”
Mr Hussain expressed these views while offering condolences to the head of Jafria Alliance Allama Abbas Kumaili on telephone.
Mr Hussain said, “I want to bring to the knowledge of the heads of the armed forces and other military institutions that the proxies and groups formed by them without any thinking during the cold war between the United States and USSR for waging a jihad and who were armed, trained and protected were not only killing innocent citizens today but it were the same elements who were killing officers and men of Navy, Air Force and Army.”
“The honest and truthful officers and men of the armed forces were busy in fighting a war against terrorists and laying down their lives while the extremist elements present in different institutions of the armed forces were weakening the army from within. These very elements were involved in the terrorist attacks on the GHQ, the PAF Kamra Airbase, the PN Mehran Base, offices of the ISI and other defence installations. Recently they attacked the naval dockyard. A large number of officers and men of the armed forces have been martyred in these attacks.”
Addressing the heads of the armed forces and the civil and military bureaucracy, Mr Hussain said it was the need of the hour to carry out a ruthless action against such elements present in the rank and file of the armed forces and other law-enforcing agencies.”
“Groups comprising honest Shia and Sunni officers of the armed forces should be sent to Shia and Sunni mosques and madrassas to inspect as to what is being taught there. All those madrassas where young students are being brainwashed into carrying out terrorism should be dealt with an iron hand.”
Mr Hussain said it was a public knowledge as to which banned outfits were involved in sectarian killings in Karachi. He said it was highly unfortunate that despite this certain prejudiced officers of Rangers and other law-enforcing agencies were carrying out propaganda among the Shia and Sunni people that some MQM workers were involved in these crimes.
Addressing the Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, and heads of the Navy, Air Force and DG ISI Lt Gen Zaheerul Islam, Mr Hussain said, “If any of the MQM worker or leader was involved in these crimes and there were incontrovertible evidence available with the ISI, MI, IB or any other agency to prove it, that MQM worker or leader should be publicly hanged in Karachi, Lahore or any other part of the country. Even his dead body should be made a sign for others instead of burying him. But if the allegation could not be proved then those levelling such baseless allegations should be hanged.”
Mr Hussain said his entire life was spent in promoting Shia-Sunni brotherhood and unity among Muslim. “When I was in Pakistan I used to risk my life to prevent any conflict between the Shias and the Sunnis and I am doing everything for promoting sectarian harmony and unity even while I am away from home in exile. I am deeply saddened to know that these prejudiced officers are plotting against the MQM and levelling vile allegations that the MQM was involved in sectarian killings.”
Mr Hussain said when the Shia and Sunni religious scholars were well aware about the banned outfits that were involved in sectarian killings and what type of education and training was being given in which madrassa, how was it possible that the government agencies were oblivious of it?
Mr Hussain said that unfounded allegations were being levelled at MQM despite this common public knowledge and this was being done to protect the real criminals.
Mr Hussain said that those who were carrying out propaganda against the MQM and hurling unsupported allegations should come up with solid evidences that could not be rejected if they were man enough, otherwise they should stop making false accusations and propaganda.
Mr Hussain said that the curse of Allah would descend on those who were falsely accusing innocent people.
Mr Hussain urged on the Shia and Sunni religious scholars not to get ensnared by this vicious propaganda. He asked them to understand that the MQM is the only party that is making efforts for Shia-Sunni brotherhood and unity of Muslims. He said no one would be left to raise voice against killings if the MQM would be smeared by malicious propaganda.
Mr Hussain offered heartfelt condolences to Allama Abbas Kumaili on the martyrdom of his son Allama Ali Akbar Kumaili and extended sympathies to all other family members. He prayed Allah to bless the departed soul and give courage and patience to the bereaved family. He also prayed Allah to protect Pakistan from conspiracies.
