UN and other international organizations must play their due role in resolving the conflict: Saleem Shahzad
Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) organized a protest demonstration outside the UK Houses of Parliament today in order to express solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people of Gaza. MQM workers hailing from different areas of London and sympathizers, including women and elderly people, took part in the demonstration. Members of the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM in London Mr Muhammad Ashfaque, Mr Saleem Shahzad and organizer of the MQM UK Dr Saleem Danish were also present on occasion.
Participants of the demonstrations were carrying placards expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and condemning war and injustices done to the people of Palestine. They called for protecting women and children and establishing peace. Some placards also carried the pictures of women and children wounded in bombardment on Gaza.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Ashfaque said that the MQM supports oppressed people in any part of the world. Mr Altaf Hussain, the founder and leader of the MQM, has always raised his voice against injustices done to all people, and when Gaza was bombarded in a barbaric manner, it was Altaf Hussain, who made strong protest in order to awaken the conscience of the world.
Mr Shahzad said that the bombardment of Gaza was a clear act of aggression by Israel, and the MQM demonstration was an expression of complete solidarity with the helpless people of Gaza. He said that the people of Palestine must also be given the right to live freely and the UN and all other international organizations must play their due role in resolving the conflict.
