The judgment of the Supreme Court in Asghar Khan Case should be implemented according to its spirit: MQM
 Posted on: 10/20/2012

Action should be taken under the constitution and the law against all those who distributed money and those who received money
The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has welcomed the historic judgment delivered by the Supreme Court in Asghar Khan Case. It said that the judgment of the court should be implemented according to its spirit. It said that action should be taken under the constitutions and the law against the army and government officers who distributed money from the national exchequer among politicians and all those political leaders and journalists who received the money.
The Co-ordination Committee said that the Asghar Khan case, lingering in the Supreme Court for many years, bears out the fact that the government agencies meddle in the political process and influence the general elections held in the country.
The Co-ordination Committee said it was a matter of record that the agencies had offered money to the MQM leader Altaf Hussain like other leaders, but Altaf Hussain refused to accept money and did not sell his conscience. This has been accepted by Younus Habib and officials of the government agencies who had distributed money among the politicians.
The Co-ordination Committee said that after the historic decision of the Supreme Court, all political leaders who had accepted money from agencies should show moral courage and surrender themselves to law.
The Co-ordination Committee called for ensuring that all state institutions work within their framework in future and do not transgress their constitutional limits.
