Message on the occasion of 61st death anniversary of Liaquat Ali Khan
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the assassination of Shaheed-i-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan is a tragic incident of the history of Pakistan. Paying glowing tributes to the first prime minister of Pakistan on his 61st death anniversary, Mr Hussain said that the services and sacrifices rendered by Khan Liaquat Ali Khan for the Pakistan movement and for the emergence of Pakistan on the world-map as an independent country could never be forgotten.
Mr Hussain said it was a national tragedy that the circumstances behind his assassination were still shrouded in mystery. Liaquat Ali Khan wanted to see Pakistan in the line of advanced and developed countries of the world, but he was mercilessly killed in a public meeting in Rawalpindi. He said that by eliminating Liaquat Ali Khan the path of progress and prosperity was impeded. He urged upon President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf to bring the facts regarding the investigation of the murder of Liaquat Ali Khan before the public.
