The seventh anniversary of the catastrophic earthquake that struck Azad Kashmir and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on 8th October 2005 was observed with reverence. A gathering was held at the MQM Headquarters Nine Zero for offering fateha for the martyrs of the devastating earthquake.
Deputy Convener Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani, other members of the Co-ordination Committee, haq parast ministers, senators, MNAs, MPAs and office-bearers of various wings of the MQM were also present in large numbers.
Fateha and special prayers were offered for the martyrs of the earthquake by the provincial minister for Auqaf Abdul Haseeb. Prayers were offered for the long life and good health of Mr Altaf Hussain and for progress and prosperity of the country as well.
Earlier candles were burnt in the memory of the people who died in the calamitous earthquake in 2005. Deputy Convener Anis Qaimkhani and other office-bearers lit candles to express solidarity with the martyrs.
Similar gatherings were held in Muzaffarabad and Mirpur zones of the MQM in Azad Kashmir to pay homage to the martyrs.
