The Coordination Committee has strongly condemned the undue arrests of MQM workers and raids on their homes, especially in Orangi Town, Surjani, Korangi, Defence-Clifton and Malir areas.

In a statement, the Coordination Committee said that the law enforcement agencies arrested MQM worker of Unit-118/B in raid on his home in Gulshan-e-Zia, Orangi Town sector-11. They also arrested Unit in-charge Kashif Wasi son of Mukhtar of MQM Unit-74 and a worker Irfan Fakhro Butt son of Butt of the same unit, while another worker Saeed son of Abdul Hakeem of Unit-76 was also arrested during the raid.

The Committee said that Ad hoc Unit in-charge Nadeem Sheikh son of Sheikh Ibrahim, Circle in-charge Kamal Pasha son of Jamaluddin and a worker Fahad son of Muhammad Ahmed of MQM Defence-Clifton Sector Unit P&T-7 were also arrested during the raids on their homes. While a worker Raheel son of Wali of MQM Malir Unit-101 was also arrested from outside of his house.

The Coordination Committee said the undue arrests and raids were not in the favour of the country while the army was engaged with operation Zarb-e-Azb against the terrorists.

The Coordination Committee also demanded President mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Core-Commander Sajjad Ghani to take notice against undue arrests MQM activists and raids on their homes.
