It is extremely unfair to prevent overseas Pakistanis from participating in Pakistan’s politics: Altaf Husain

It is the demand of the patriotic overseas Pakistan to lift this constitutional ban through a constitutional amendment 
The founder and leader of MQM Mr. Altaf Hussain has directed Haq Parast parliamentarians to take steps to  repeal the dual nationality law through constitutional amendments immediately. He urged them to play their role to give overseas Pakistanis the right to participate in elections. 
Mr. Hussain expressed these views while addressing a joint session of London and Pakistan Rabita Committees. They discussed the role of overseas Pakistanis in the progress and prosperity of Pakistan, overall economic situation of the country, alarming growth in inflation, unemployment and poverty. They also discussed in detail about the ongoing talks between the government and Taliban. 
The participants of the meeting also exchanged views on situation of famine in Thar and Cholistan. They deplored over the deaths of children because of shortage of food and medical care.
“Overseas Pakistan send a large sum of foreign exchange every month. They send billions of rupees in aid whenever natural disasters strike us or emergency occurs. They protect the prestige and interests of Pakistan abroad. It is extremely unfair to prevent them from participating in Pakistan’s politics. It is sheer cruelty to stop them from participating in politics. It is the demand of the patriotic overseas Pakistan to lift this constitutional ban through a constitutional amendment, “ Mr. Hussain said.
Mr. Hussain has directed Haq Parast parliamentarians to take immediate steps to repeal the dual nationality law and asked them to contact the government and other parties in this connection.
Mr.  Hussain has demanded that the government should take steps to provide decent livelihood to people who live below the poverty line in Pakistan. He also demanded that doctors and paramedical staff and medicines should be dispatched to Thar and Cholistan. 
“Every effort must be taken to help the impoverished people of Thar and Cholistan, “ Mr. Husain urged. 
Mr. Hussain made an appeal to overseas Pakistanis to send aid for the economic stability and poor people of Pakistan.
