Rulers should not repeat mistakes of the past and push Pakistan into a war for the interests of other countries: Altaf Hussain
 Posted on: 3/19/2014
As a patriot Pakistani I will not support the decision of the government to involve in others affairs because successive generations will bear the effects of our bad decisions
The founder and leader of MQM Mr. Altaf Hussain has said the day before that rulers should not repeat mistakes of the past and push Pakistan into a war for the interests of other countries.
“Pakistan and its armed forces have suffered a lot because of war. As a patriot Pakistani I will not support the decision of the government to involve in others affairs because successive generations will bear the effects of our bad decisions, “ Mr. Hussain expressed these view all talking to the participants of joint meeting of London and Karachi.
“When someone raises voices against injustices in a society to solve the problems and evils in the society. Forces of Status Quo and tyrant rulers turns against him and use everything dirty tricks and repressive measures and try to suppress the people who are struggling against injustices and portray them as villains. God gives courage, energy and determination to people who are fighting against injustices in a society, which enables them cross all hurdles and serious impediment to spread their message. The message gradually. The celebration of Foundation Day indicates that MQM’s message has spread across Pakistan, including Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltishtan and 37 other cities, “ Mr. Hussain said.
“I have revealed some facts in my address to the participants of the convention. My adversaries did not like my views and have united against me and censuring me. They are trying to mislead people by twisting my statements. They are accusing me of inciting the army to revolt against the civilian government. It is a vicious slander on my good name. Recording of my speech is available. Play it and listen every sentence carefully and people will realize that I have not said anything wrong, “ Mr. Hussain explained what he said in his speech.
“In the past super powers have used Pakistan to secure their interest. We were used in America and Russia’s war. People who were in power during the cold war supported and aided America. We are still experiences the consequences of our participation in the cold war. America and NATO forces will leave in 2014. However, terrorism is pushing us to anarchy. We are still suffering because of the subversive activities of terrorists. Now our ruler has made. Our rulers have not lessons from the mistakes of the past. They have sending forces to Jordan, Somalia and other countries. I have been saying again and again that do not make Pakistan a mercenary force. We have to stop using army for the interest of other countries. We will to change our behavior otherwise Pakistan will suffer because of the participation in other countries war, “ Mr. Hussain said.
“ In my last speech I had said that we should not repeat the mistake of the past. We should not push Pakistan to fight for the interests of other countries. I had said that armed forces should refuse the order of the government if they are ordered to send soldiers, arms and ammunition to kill Muslims in other countries. Some people have raised hue and cry over my statement. I would like to tell people especially the students of political science, sociology and law in the light of historical facts. My statement is not unconstitutional or illegal. I have said it clearly that that the army should not obey orders which is against the constitution and law. It has happened in the past too. Those who are criticizing me should read the judgment PLD 1995 of Supreme Court in the case of Zahid Akhatar vs Government of Punjab that government officials should not obey unconstitutional orders of authorities. In the case of Asghar Khan vs General Aslam Beg the Supreme Court has given remark that army chief and ISI chief should accept legal orders. It is said in the judgment that the army and ISI should not obey illegal orders of the president of Pakistan despite the fact that he is the commander-in-chief of the armed forces. Otherwise, officers who obey the orders would be held responsible for their actions, “ Mr. Hussain said.
“For example, address a public gathering during the previous government Mian Nawaz Shareef has urged police and law enforcement agencies not to obey the orders of the federal government. In the same gathering a police officer unbuckled his belt and offered it to Nawaz Shareef on the stage. Mian Shareef praised the officer for his loyalty.  In 1977 during the PNA movement army was order to fire on the gathering of the people, but they refused to obey the order. Those who refused to obey the order included a brigadier and colonel. The brigadier has unbuckled his belt and refused to accept the order. During the previous government on the issue of Kerry Lugar Bill, the military leadership expressed its concern in the corps commander meeting, which compelled the government to review its decision. The government has to take back its decision to put ISI under the Interior ministry’s control, “ Altaf Hussain said.
