Form a commission to investigate into the extrajudicial murders of MQM workers
MQM’s Rabita Committee member Dr. Farooq Sattar has said the two unidentified corpses buried in the Hyderabad’s Tando Yusuf Graveyard were MQM workers. He added that their families identified them after seeing the pictures of their corpses.
“The names of the two workers are Syed Muhammad Yawar Abbas Rizvi and Shamsad Haider.  Syed Muhammad Yawar Abbas was a worker of MQM PIB Unit no 158. He was picked by plaincloth Rangers’ personnel on November 6, 2014 from his home in Ghosia Colony. Shamshad Zafar was picked by plaincloth policemen from his shop in Tariq on January 6, 2014, “ Dr. Farooq Sattar Said.
Dr. Farooq Sattar has made a demand to the federal interior minister, chief minister Sindh and law minister Sindh to form a commission to investigate into the extrajudicial murder of MQM workers. He added that this commission should complete investigation in 5 days.
He said this while addressing a hurriedly called press conference. Rabita Committee members Nasreen Jalil, Kanwar Naveed Jameel, Iftikhar Randhava, Mian Atique and Ashfaq Manghi were also present.
“Families of MQM workers who have become victims of enforced disappearance are in agony. The authority of the state and the government has completed eroded from the city. Law breakers are committing crimes with impunity. Earlier MQM’s Lines Area worker Abdul Jabbar was executed and buried. He was too identified from the picture taken before the burial. Hundreds of MQM workers have been arrested and subjected to inhume torture during the operation. Scores of MQM workers have become victims of enforced disappearance during the target operation in the city. Some of them have been arrested by plaincloth law enforcement agencies, “ Dr. Farooq Sattar said.
Dr. Farooq Sattar said MQM convened press conferences and staged protest demonstrations for their missing and disappeared workers in order to get information about them. He expressed fear that more MQM workers who had been arrested by the Law enforcement agencies would be killed this way extra judicially.
Dr. Farooq Sattar said,” MQM PIB Sector members Muhammad Naeem , Arif Nizami, Muhammad Ali had been arrested by law enforcement agencies on October 7, 2013. We have not been able to find out 28 MQM workers who were arrested during June 19, 1992 operation.  Family members of Syed Muhammad Yawar Rizv and Shamsad Haider have filed petitions for their recovery in the court. We are receiving their dead bodies on the dates given by the courts to produce them on the courts, “ Dr. Farooq said.
He appealed to the court to provide justice to the families of the victims. He also urged the human rights organizations to take notice of their murders and raise voice. He demanded that arrested workers should be produced in the courts to end the anxiety and confusion of the families.
Dr. Farooq Sattar expressed his heartfelt condolences with the bereaved families of the workers and prayed for their high places in Jannah.
