Mr Altaf Hussain, the Founder and Leader of MQM, has said that Sufis and Saints spread Islam in the Indian Sub-Continent through love, exemplary character and their love and respect for the humanity. Pakistan is bleeding and needs the same message of love and humanity even more today. Mr Hussain said this while talking to Sahibzadah Hamid Raza of Sunny Ittehad Council, Dewan Ahmad Masood Modood, Sajjadah Nasheen of Dargah Pakpatan Shrif and Mr Arsalan Malik of Aam Admi Party of Pakistan over the phone. Mr Hussain invited all of them to MQM's Sufi Convention in Lahore on Sunday.
Mr Altaf Hussain said that in order to confront religious extremism, it is inevitable to promote the real message of Islam and teachings of Sufis and Saints who promoted Islam in the Indian Sub-Continent through love, exemplary character and their love and respect for the humanity. He said the country's masses need to unite and bring into power the real representatives of people from middle and lower-middle classes. He said that the country is in the grip of the same ruling elite that keeps ruling the country under different garbs and pretext. "In order to bring about real change in the country, the oppressed masses of Pakistan must get united and elect those in the elections who understand their plight and miseries.", added Mr Hussain.
Mr Altaf Hussain urged the members of smaller groups with similar objectives to join the MQM which has already been struggling for the rights of people of all ethnicities, regions, religions and social classes of Pakistan.
Sahibzadah Hamid Raza, Dewan Ahmad Masood Modood and Mr Arsalan Malik thanked Mr Altaf Hussain for inviting them to the Sufi Convention and accepted the invitation. They assured Mr Hussain of theirs and their followers' participation in the Convention. They also hailed MQM's efforts to promote peace in Pakistan and to bring about a real change in the country.
